Atari
09.06.12 | WTF, No Beatles? same with 1965 and 1966. Fail. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | lol the beatles. Please Please Me is a god awful album.
SHE LOVES YOU YAH YAH YAH |
Atari
09.06.12 | That was 1963 and it's not their best album. However, Sgt. Peppers, Revolver, and Rubber Soul are some of the best records of all time let alone the 60's. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | They're some of the most overly simplistic, contrived records of all time. Nothing they played was on par either musically or emotionally as the music played by pretty much every musician/band I've listed thus far. |
Atari
09.06.12 | I'll admit I haven't heard lots of the artists you've listed but I grew up listening to the beatles and I will always love them. Also, how is SGT. peppers overly simplistic? |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | Great albums but missing too much goodness. |
Atari
09.06.12 | Ya coldplay is better than the beatles what was I thinking? |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | "you forgot beatles, the greatest generic pop band of all time, you're stoopid wtf!"
Stones
The Mamas and the Papas Deliver
Hendrix
to name just a few.
and yah fuck it, it's probably not wise to leave out Sgt. Peppers.
It was a little/wildly influential and all. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | ' Also, how is SGT. peppers overly simplistic?'
They're all pretty standard pop songs, only difference between that and their earlier stuff is that Sgt Peppers was written on copious amounts of acid |
Cghost
09.06.12 | Stones are terribly inconsistent. Hendrix is good, but I'm not much for psychedelia, or blues, so I've only ever really got into his greatest hits albums. His actual albums are too much for me. Mamas and the Papas lol. And I don't care how influential Sgt Peppers was, the album is tripe. If you're going to cite something by the Beatles as actually good, at least use The White Album. |
evilford
09.06.12 | hey someone's bothering riff lol |
Insurrection
09.06.12 | lol this guys a joke |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | Greatest hits huh?
What's it like to be so nieve? |
ViperAces
09.06.12 | Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | Told you, I don't like blues, or psychedelic shit. Hendrix was both of those things to a tee. Why would I sit down and listen to a bunch of his stuff? What are you going to start recommending I listen to next like you think I don't know or something? Cream? |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | Hendrix is widely considered the most influential electric guitarist ever. You could easily learn as much from him as you could Son House. |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | Or Miles Davis if you prefer. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | lol oh, you don't know anything about music. That would explain why my lists have been pissing you off so much. |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | correct, I came to you to learn and you have disappointed me greatly. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | You weren't interested in learning anyway, you were looking for an ego stroke off because you figured someone else would have the same ten shitty classic rock albums in their top ten that you have. |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | "same ten shitty classic rock albums"
"I'm not posting obscure, I'm posting good."
Which is it?
Doesn't matter your taste is limited and uninteresting.
|
Atari
09.06.12 | Alright guys break it up lets just agree to disagree : ) |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | Atari... kindly step aside sir... I do not with to have you in harms way. |
Atari
09.06.12 | Ok do what you gotta do lol, but only cause you asked nicely. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | '"same ten shitty classic rock albums"
"I'm not posting obscure, I'm posting good."
Which is it?'
What? Are you just being incoherent now because you can't think of anything else? Those quotes don't relate to each other at all.
'Doesn't matter your taste is limited and uninteresting. '
Says the guy who's mad I didn't put Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, and The Mamas and the Papas into any of my lists. |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | That was a small sampling of the music you didn't put up that is arguably as good or better than limited selection you did choose. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | You could argue that the Rolling Stones were as good or better than any of the musicians I've listed. You'd be wrong and you'd lose, but you could try. |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | Why would I do that... why would I limit myself to the Rolling Stones when every other musician that released an album in 1967 other than the 9 listed here are who I'm referring to?I'll stay at the top of the hill while you fight your way up sir. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | Yeah, you do that. Or you know, maybe actually listen to Atlantis, or anything I've listed, and realize there's more out there. |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | You have yet to list anything I haven't heard.
When you have I'll let you know though. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | Yeah, okay. For apparently not being a jazz fan, you sure have heard a lot of it |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | What are you talking about?
I am a jazz fan... I'm just not closed off from the rest of the world of music. I have never understood people who don't like more than one or two types of music... if that is your thing this may not be the place for you. It's fine to be an enthusiast for a specific genre but dismissing other genres out of hand is kind of a bitch move.
"For apparently not being a jazz fan, you sure haven't heard much of it."
This makes no sense. |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | ah, correction made... I love jazz to answer your question.
Time Out and Blue Train easily make my top 25 all time albums.
Piano Starts Here is in my current top ten.
I have long term lists and list for current loves. |
Spec
09.06.12 | One list per day bitch. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | Yeah, I still don't believe it, but I don't know why I should given your profile and last.fm (which I hate judging music taste on, but I don't really have anything else). And I'm not dismissing anything. I've made lists for the 60's, when jazz expanded and grew more than any other genre of music. Not to mention this is (arguably) the period the best jazz emerged from. It's not like all of my lists are going to be filled with jazz lol. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | Correction, I dismiss dubstep. That shit is garbage. |
omnipanzer
09.06.12 | I like everything and even though jazz is phenomenal there are other very worthy albums and genres out there.
That is all. |
Cghost
09.06.12 | You realize I never said there wasn't, right? |
menawati
09.06.12 | Too many lists too fast. I like your lists they are interesting but so many at once a lot will just drop off the radar too fast. |
Chortles
09.06.12 | ^pretty much. once a day would be good but this is too much. also where's hendrix? |
Emyay
09.07.12 | the who are terrible |
