01.03.15 | Yeah, thought that those two are too low for some. I'm just not too fond of instrumentals in general and while they are both really good work, I think they're too long for their own good. |
JamieTwort
01.03.15 | Prefer RTL these days but both a pretty similar in terms of quality. Both leagues ahead of Justice. |

01.03.15 | Very happy to see some love for Trapped Under Ice, RTL is the winner for me. |

01.03.15 | I can't decide, love em both too much. I'd probably say RTL is a bit more consistent, but "Master" is my favorite song by them so it's not an easy choice. |

Don't know if I can agree with the first part. Both are amazing anyway, but I'd really say RTL seems more cohesive in it's raw energetic style. And it also has more of a flow (if that word fits any Metallica album) thanks to the more coherent themes and for me better placed songs. MOP seems way more thought through and is more precise, but somehow that track list is kind of weird.
Also, thought of another question at hand: Best Metallica intro? |
DoctorDoom
01.03.15 | The riffs in RTL are their best and that is the deciding factor for me. |

01.03.15 | I'd go with Ride the Lightning. Master of Puppets has a better track 5 and 6, making it superficially seem more consistent, but at least five of the tracks on Ride the Lightning are flawless, unimpeachable classics. Most of the tracks on Master of Puppets that aren't the first two are just very good. |
KrazyKris
01.03.15 | Can I disagree with "better track 5" please????? |
JohnTheSavage
01.03.15 | Well you clearly will because you put it as your number one song out of both albums : ) |

01.03.15 | I love RTL's dark atmosphere but MOP is slightly better because it's more progressive and some of the songs are slightly better than the RTL counterparts, namely Battery and Fire and Messiah and Escape. Their t/t, instrumentals, and ballads are about on par with each other. |
