09.02.14 | Making such a list is pretty high on the embarrassment scale if you're a 20 year old guy, I know. |

09.02.14 | 7 is 1, Shake it Off is 2 |
NordicMindset
09.02.14 | 3 is horrid tripe |
fallenbird
09.02.14 | 1 should be Long Live
|
KrazyKris
09.02.14 | I think the only reason 3 is horrible for most people is that they've heard it over and over and over and over again. I have no TV, no radio and therefore I actually heard it the first time when I listened to Red.
"Long Live" is good, her best closer, but that doesn't say too much. Not up to par with her best work, probably too long

09.02.14 | ~7 is 1~
Love the sound, but still has one of the stupidest opening lines ever |
fallenbird
09.02.14 | My ranking would be
1. Long Live
2. State Of Grace
3. Last Kiss
4. Begin Again
5. Enchanted
6. Haunted
7. All Too Well
8. Back to December
9. The Story Of Us
10. Dear John
As you can tell I sorta like Speak Now |
fallenbird
09.02.14 | Nothing off Fearless makes her top ten for me sadly |

09.02.14 | @fallenbird
Ok, we obviously like different things about her. I think the only thing she really nails are her up-beat, not too cheesy sing-along tracks. She has some good ballads, but they're often too long and lack something interesting musically, plus her overtly naive lyrics come out more.
Therefore "Last Kiss" and "Enchanted" are two of her worst for me, "Back To December" is pretty good though.
Fearless is probably a bit too monotonous, but on the whole better than Red. It looses a bit, if you know Speak Now though. |
fallenbird
09.02.14 | I personally think she nails those long ballads on the head with a fucking railroad spike in between the eyes but that's just me. I personally like Red a bit more than Fearless because while it has many of her worst songs (cough cough* Stay, Stay, Stay) it also has some of her best. Also Fearless hasn't aged well for me, it sounds like it was written by a 16 year old whereas Red sounds like it was written by a 22 year old who ,while still hasn't reached any real form of maturity, is still more mature than Fearless. |
KrazyKris
09.02.14 | Can't agree on the maturity thing. At least not on the whole. She always had the naivity and cheesy, at times hard to swallow look at love (I actually like that somehow), but on Red she suddenly lost the ability to write exactly that in the proper way. "Stay, Stay, Stay" and "22" are two of those, but ballads like "Sad Tragic Affair", "I Almost Do" or "Everything Has Changed" are just too clichéd lyrically. I liked her way to rather write stories than just describe some feeling and that changed. Can be good at times, but with her one-dimensional themes and a basic look at love it's not really spectacular. |
