10.25.12 | any of you fuckers ever had experience with lucid dreams? |
Ethics
10.25.12 | aw fuck this shit just happened to me except i kind of went into sleep paralysis along with it. my dreams have been linking lately, except they're extremely heavy/foreboding and i never have had many nightmares to begin with so it's pretty bad
i've been lucid dreaming almost every night for the past 8 months or so, super fun and detailed stuff. i could probably write like 8 pages on it or something so i'll just stop now. |
HitlerIsTheBest
10.25.12 | have you tried creating things? |
kwill15
10.25.12 | i've been trying to learn how to do this for about a month now. no progress yet ._. |
Ethics
10.25.12 | like, creating stuff within my dreams? yeah.. i can do all kinds of insane stuff within them and they feel like they last for 14 hours+ with almost every minute detail in my head when i wake up |
HitlerIsTheBest
10.25.12 | @kwill what have you been doing to induce it? what i was doing was reality checks constantly throughout the day. pushing my index finger into my palm (in dreams it may just go right through), leaning on things (you might fall through in a dream), turning lights on and off (in dreams light switches might not work right), and looking at clocks (they are usually nonsensical in dreams). it helps you realize when things arent right. didnt work for me though. i think what might have helped start it though is that ive been keeping a journal of all my dreams that i remember fairly clearly. ive read that that is a huge step in lucid dreaming.
@ethics i hope i can get to that point, goddamn. |
Aids
10.25.12 | i've been training myself to induce lucid dreaming for a while. i've been doing it with pretty regular success for the past six months. |
Ethics
10.25.12 | For dreaming and remembering stuff distinctly in lucid dreaming, I recommend like three things.
1) Convince yourself that dreaming shouldn't be disregarded and is a very important part of life. You have to really tap into your emotions and open-mindset on certain things or you won't be able to really feel dreams as well. Doubt will destroy dreaming off the bat, so try not to.
2) Before you fall asleep or whenever you get that into that really woozy state.. tell yourself "I'm about to fall asleep, remember this dream for tomorrow." This works BIG time for me and sometimes I've almost lost dreams because I didn't do it. I think it helps prepare your mind for what's about to come so it can change whatever is going on up there for different thinking structures.
3) When you wake up, try to put together everything really fast. I've found that sometimes if I see something that I know happened in my dream (it can be as stupid as twisting a door knob or hearing a sentence that was said in my dream) tons of other memories will flow in as well. It's really weird, but it works. You can also like set up an item in your mind to bring into your dream and see if you see it in there. Once you get out and see the item next to you (like a lamp or something), it should help trigger a lot more memories than just that lamp. |
Aids
10.25.12 | the dream journal is the most important thing yeah because it makes you consciously thing of the things that you dream so that when you do notice that your are in a dream, your body stays asleep while your mind can run free. |

10.25.12 | "I've found that sometimes if I see something that I know happened in my dream (it can be as stupid as twisting a door knob or hearing a sentence that was said in my dream) tons of other memories will flow in as well."
yeah, thats how i remembered the first dream. i was completely oblivious to the fact that i had even had a lucid dream until like 10 hours later. something triggered the memory. |

this is what i did with my journal. as soon as i woke up, if i remembered the dream id write down everything i could. eventually i started remembering more and more and my dreams felt more and more real. |
Ethics
10.25.12 | lol i have like 59 pages of shit
wait until you're able to do it every night/you start going into third person within your dreams, that's when it gets serious |
HitlerIsTheBest
10.25.12 | cant fucking wait. so is there any limit to what you can do? i mean, if i felt like flying to the sun and back would that be possible eventually or is that hard to do? |

10.25.12 | “Let’s suppose that you were able every night to dream any dream you wanted to dream, and that you could for example have the power within one night to dream 75 years of time or any length of time you wanted to have, and you would naturaly as you began on this adventure of dreams you would fufill all your wishes. You would have every kind of pleasure you could conceive and after serveral nights of 75 years of total pleasure each you would say “wow that was pretty great, but now lets umm lets have a surprise, lets have a dream which isn’t under control where something is going to happen to me that I don’t know what it’s going to be” and uhh you would do that and come out of that and say “wow that was a close shave wasn’t it” and then you would get more and more adventureous and you would make further and further gambles as to what your dream, and finally you would dream where you are now. You would dream the dream of living the life that you are actually living today.” Alan Watts, genious. |
Ethics
10.25.12 | it's not really like that for me, hitler. basically your mind will throw you into situations and you can navigate through them at your free will or really alter them. chance is like obsolete in dreams because you can control everyone and everything around you, just depends on how powerful that person/object/concept is or if you've already tricked yourself into believing that a certain situation can't go a direction
like, yeah you CAN fly to the sun and back - you just have to be super under control of your dream and disregard whatever limitations that would hold you back for that. i remember once i was able to somehow pull out a parachute and like reverse float up into the air to get into an airplane because in my mind i convinced myself that it would work
i don't know how it will be for you, but the more you do it and practice the better you'll get at it |

10.25.12 | Lucid dreaming is legit. To really blow open that third eye brush up on your archetypes and common themes in dream imagery so you can interpret your dreams while you dream them lucidly and tap into your subconcious. The crap you find in there is a trip. Your subconcious is brutally honest and critical though better have a thick skin. |

10.25.12 | I was there at one point when I got knocked into the hospital for a month. Just lucid dreamed for like two months straight once I got out and had to recover. But then I sorta calmed down when school started back up and I got a job.
It's cool, but ehh sorta borderline crazy shit. Parents started bitching, questioning me asking about psychiatrists and stuff - didn't want to deal with it.
Also, the dude who said maudlin of the Well knows what's up. I think Toby Driver used to fuck with lucid dreaming a lot and it somehow has affected my dreams pretty drastically.
I had sleep paralysis for the first time last night in like half a year and it was fucking disgusting ridiculous. Idk why but it always get extremely foreboding and evil, like various silhouettes are watching over me and sometimes I can't tell the distinction between a dream and reality once I wake up, so I think I'm awake but still dreaming and then I wake up while thinking I'm awake holy shit wtf am I typing.
Nipple's comments destroyed me lol. |

10.25.12 | I worked on lucid dreaming for years and ended up being able to finally after alot of discipline.
First of all get the dream journal down. You have to get really good at remembering them.
Then I would do "reality checks" frequently during the day. It would freak the fuck outta my friends when I would randomly jump up to see if I were dreaming (If I was dreaming then I would float). Often during the day I would ask myself "am I dreaming?" You have to get used to questioning reality because that's what you'll have to do in your dream, and your dream is every bit as realistic as your fat ass sitting here reading this right now. Pinching yourself in a dream doesn't work because it hurts just like when your boyfriend does it.
I trekked in India for weeks and every day during my walks I would question reality. Then finally I was able to have them and some were wonderful, like I would fly around and kiss chicks and try and do them, and others were pretty fucking scary with animals attacking me. |

11.11.12 | i used to have these all the time when i was younger, like around 10. despite what people might think, they're actually really scary because you feel like you're never going to be able to wake up and escape the dream. instead of being like "oh sweet i'm in a dream i'm gonna go do a bunch of cool shit" i would just spend the whole time trying to find ways to wake myself up. and sleep paralysis is one of the worst things ever, i literally thought i was dying when it happened to me about 6 months ago. i had it about 3 times in the span of a couple weeks. |
