| Meta's AI-powered music generator open source demo
MusicGen, Meta’s music-generating tool can turn a text description (e.g. “An ’80s driving pop song with heavy drums and synth pads in the background”) into about 12 seconds of audio. MusicGen can optionally be “steered” with reference audio, like an existing song, in which case it’ll try to follow both the description and melody.
MusicGen is a single stage auto-regressive Transformer model trained over a 32kHz EnCodec tokenizer with 4 codebooks sampled at 50 Hz. Unlike existing methods like MusicLM, MusicGen doesn't not require a self-supervised semantic representation, and it generates all 4 codebooks in one pass.
