| Greatest Alternative Metal Albums
Best alt metal, funk metal, rap metal and nu metal albums ever. | 15 | | Chevelle Wonder What's Next
One of the best modern rock albums in years, with deep and meaningful lyrics. | 14 | | Rollins Band Weight
Great hard rock/hardcore album. | 13 | | Korn Korn
Revolutionary album that started the whole nu metal movement and influenced many bands in it's wake. | 12 | | Jane's Addiction Nothing's Shocking | 11 | | Snot Get Some
Fun and heavy mix of hardcore, funk and nu metal. | 10 | | Soundgarden Badmotorfinger | 9 | | Rage Against the Machine Rage Against the Machine
Intense and angry political rap metal that's pretty much perfect from beginning to end. | 8 | | Helmet Meantime | 7 | | Alice in Chains Alice in Chains
Dark, depressing and oppressively sludgy album, very underrated as well. | 6 | | Incubus S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
Interesting mash up of funk, electronic, rap, alt rock and thrash. | 5 | | Primus Frizzle Fry
Quirky album, with a few forays into thrash | 4 | | Tool Undertow
It may not be their best album, but it's still without a doubt one of the best albums this genre has to offer. | 3 | | System of a Down System of a Down
schizophrenic and heavy | 2 | | Faith No More King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime
Sprawling album that mixes a lot of genres, without a doubt their best. | 1 | | Mudvayne L.D. 50
Very emotional, powerful, unpredictable and exciting album. One of the best i've ever heard. | |

Living Colour are a great funk/metal band, and same with Extreme, who have GARY CHERONE on vocals. | breakingthefragile

03.14.13 | Dog Fashion Disco - dang, haven't heard them or of them since I was a wee boy. gotta listen to pogo the clown again even if it's probably pretty shite. | osmark86
03.14.13 | I'm a sucker for Chevelle's Wonder What's Next I have to admit. that album boasts a lot of solid tracks. I agree that Superunknown should be on here. that album is my favourite out of the grunge movement (not really a fan of grunge overall though, never dwelved into it much). |
