Definitely one of the greatest "modern" bands. I actually like all their records, though, some are greater than others. This is, of course, a subjective list, so feel free to disagree.

Concrete and Gold

I´m not saying is bad. I just almost completely forgot it after one listen. It is a strong record, but nowhere as great as some of their earlier works. Concrete and Gold has a few highlights though: The upbeat Run, The Sky is the Neighborhood of course, and that one when McCartney is playing the drums, Sunday Rain.

Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace

I don´t like to see this record here, mainly because it starts with one of the best songs in all FF catalogue. But ther rest of the record, as enjoyable as it is, doesn´t perform that well. Highlights: The Pretender of course (inmense track), Let it Die, Come Alive, the acoustic Stranger Things Have Happened and Home.

Sonic Highways

The concept is more ambitious than the music itself i have to say. But you can hear it entirely and enjoy the whole thing. It has some great highlights: Something from Nothing, Congregation, Outside, In The Clear (very nineties this one) and I am a River.

Foo Fighters

Think. Dave did this out of nowhere almost himself alone. Impressive, catchy, powerful, and incredible enough, it set the sound of the band just like that. You can hear any FF record, then listen to the debut album, and hear total coherence. Highlights: This is a Call, I´ll Stick Around (the "Nirvanier" song on the catalogue), the funny Big Me (Stupid sexy video), For All The Cows, Exhausted.

In Your Honor

The idea was pretty ambitious: one side headbangers, and the other sweet tunes. Both sides have phenomenal songs. In Your Honor is my favorite FF record, but mainly because it reconnects me with a specific time of my life, not because i think is the best. Anyway, killer record. Highlights: In Your Honor, No Way Back, Best of You, DOA, End Over End; What if I Do?, Another Round, The "jazzy" Virginia Moon and Cold Day in the Sun (sang by Taylor).

One by One

I watched some FF album rankings, and i saw One By One on the last spot on some. Why? This is a great record. This one is actually the turning point for the FF. They redid the whole thing, and it sounds incredible. Plus some of the best FF songs in the mix: All my Life and Times Like These. It has other highlights songs though: The frenetic Low, Have it All, the amazing drumless Tired of You and Halo.

Wasting Light

You know there are some records you can just press play and enjoy every second without fillers. Well, Wasting Light is that record. Flawless, groovy, powerful, intense. In a way, this is the best record FF did. and they did it analogue style. Highlights: Every song.

The Colour and the Shape

Yes, if you think The Colour and The Shape should be number one, you are probably right. This record is perfect. It is very nineties, but it doesn´t feel outdated, not one beat. This record is packed with fun, energy, urge to do some good music and this FF feel. Highlights: all of it, but we have to name Monkey Wrench, My Hero, Hey Johny Park!, My Poor Brain, See You, Enough Space and, of course, Everlong.

There Is Nothing Left to Lose

Yes, the only FF record when they were a Trio makes the top. But think of this: TINLTL is the first to feature Taylor. This is the definitive FF sound, fun, powerful, full of energy, technically great. Remember when FF really exploded. It was with the songs of this record. It was with Break Out, Learn to Fly and Generator. But it has other great tracks as well: Stacked Actors (impressive way to start a record), the groovy Gimme Stitches, The mellower Aurora, Next Year, Ain´t It The Life, Headwires, M.I.A. I think i named the whole record.
