I don't enjoy streaming services that much because I'm not guaranteed to have the music, it's just available as long as I'm logged in/the sites up/the artist allows it/etc.
Also the streaming quality is bad, as are most of the readily available results from pirate searches. |

11.22.13 | spotify is worse for artists than illegally downloading is because it has set the precedent that only record labels will make money on album distribution. the record label signs the contract with spotify and gets paid a fuckton of royalties to stream the music and the artists sees functionally none of those profits.
not illegal downloading still doesnt pay the artists but at least it doesnt reinforce the draconian and outdated record label formula thats demise is long overdue
