|Non-traditional Black Metal Recs?|
I've been jamming these bands a lot, and I'm looking for more "weird" or experimental
black metal. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Darkthrone and Bathory and all that, I just
prefer the weird shit. So anything like any of these groups would be much appreciated.
|1||Gnaw Their Tongues|
Everything this Mories guy puts out is gold. I don't care if most of it is pointless noise.
This whole noisey/droney/doomy without-being-alcest thing that ash borer and fell voices do is
pretty cool. I remember when I first heard about them on metal bandcamp like a year or two ago, I
said fuck this hipster shit! Oh well.
This band is pure insanity. Anything like Stagnant Waters would be much appreciated.
So they're not really black metal, but any bands legitimately fusing black metal and drone are
awesome. And I can't help but really love Attila Csihar's vocals.
|6||Young and in the Way|
I bet pitchfork covers this band now. No care. Young and in the Way slays.
I like all of these pretentious cassette bands. I can't tell if it's a joke backlash against vinyl or what,
but almost every band on the Rhinocervs label (and their sister labels) are uncompromisingly
|8||The Axis of Perdition|
As much as I like experimental black metal, I find myself preferring these guys' more traditional
albums. Industrialized black metal is a genius idea though.
|9||Make a Change...Kill Yourself|
I'm not really down with the whole depressive thing, but Make a Change's newest album is pretty
awesome. I have a soft spot for tremolo riffs that repeat for twenty minutes more-or-less, I guess.
Yeah I enjoy deathspell omega and bands that sound just like them. I guess this website is getting
|Hope Drone, Leucosis, Witch in her Tomb, Vattnet Viskar, Kvelertak (Black'n'Roll), Agalloch|
|weakling is the reason ash borer and fell voices exist, so i suggest you listen to dead as dreams asap|
also this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3h3iVr1W90
|Silencer - Death, Pierce Me......
a great album and probably one of the most insane, scary, melancholic things you will ever hear|
also check out summoning and caladan brood
|I dunno, I can't get past the guy's vocals in Silencer. I actually listened to that album for the first time on Easter, and the very first shriek actually made me laugh out loud just by instinct. I should give it another spin though. Been meaning to check out Weakling and Summoning for a while. Other than Kvelertak and Agalloch, I've never heard of any of those, Balerion, so I'm very excited for that shit. |
posting another link to the same band in a separate comment so my first comment doesn't get fucked sideways
|Entropia (PL) - Vesper|
Black metal/post rock/shoegaze stuff
|The Meads of Asphodel - The Excommunication of Christ|
|nattramn's vox are insane. but when you listen and realize that they sound the way they do because he is actually that crazy rather than just trying to emulate a sound, they take on a new meaning|
terzij de horde
