tempest-- 01.08.13	Don't even have a 3DS but I'll probably get it first day because NEW POKEMON GAME Black 2/White 2 were pretty much only fillers because they were so similar to the original Black/White Being a full on 3D game will be interesting and the bird legendary looked about 10000x cooler than the Stantler one but Pokemon designs all seems so… contrived now. As if they're only making new Pokemon for the sake of having new Pokemon.

theacademy 01.08.13	I understand your point but i can offer two counterpoints, the merits of which are up for your own, personal evaluation: 1. the quality of content available now is definitely worth the price point. especially relative to the 3DS. I kinda understood people being hesitant based on how the PSP launched and the ridiculously inconsistent spectrum along which people either hold fond memories of that system or consider it a massive flop. But the Vitas first year has really presented some quality offerings 2. Regardless of perceptions of "developer safety" -- The system is backed by Sony. In the years since PSP, Sony has put A LOT of money into building up an in-house development family. The platform isn't going anywhere, and (like nintendo has always recognized) first party games have become their best asset.

PistolPete 01.09.13	Overall opinion: - Starters are meh (literally made a chipmunk, put a green hat on him - there he's a grass starter lol) - The one thing that they might do incorrectly is make the game all about the graphics and lose the nice speed and flow of a good pokemon game. I mean it looks fantastic, but if it takes half a minute for my guy to use the move "Tackle" bc they want to show off cool scenes/graphics, fuck that. Other than that though, it brought tears to my eyes that pokemon will finally be in 3D on a handheld.

Winrar 01.09.13	I still have faith in Game Freak. Yeah, Gen V was a bit of a mess but it only looked bad when compared to Gen III and Gen IV which were awesome. Yeah, each new pokemon game is just a rehash of the last for the sake of money, but damn i don't care, they should take my money.

PistolPete 01.09.13	5 was amazing, the sequels were better too (they made hatching, EV'ing, IV'ing so much better and the controls were slick so it made it a pleasure to play). 4th gen had that issue I was mentionning before where each battle took too long and was super slow to get through.

IV added physical/special attack which gave useless pokemon more viability V added dreamworld which pretty much just adds more abilities to pokemon. Don't get me wrong, i love GEN V. I just find the changes that were added in GEN III to be the best. I'm also a fan of GEN III battling which was the most fun.

The list is quite extensive. Are you sure you've actually looked at them? Gen III was more of a mixed bag, with positives such as (arguably) the greatest set of starter Pokémon yet. However, its positives are dwarfed by its shortcomings. Most of Gen IV's problems apply to III, they're just not as amplified. And that's just the rosters, let's not even get started on the games.

TBH a lot of the "cheating" (flare blitz the grown to burn the toxic spikes!) actually made sense too, unlike thunder armor for swellow or AIM FOR THE HORNS, like wut

Winrar 01.10.13	the 4th generation is half-baked, filled with unnecessary pre-evolutions/evolutions, overloaded with unnecessary legendaries, featured some of the worst design choices the franchise has ever seen.. That's not a valid reason. Just because you don't like the aesthetic designs of some pokemon does not mean they are shit. I don't understand what you mean by unnecessary legendaries... Giratina has become one of the most used tanks in the uber scene. The list goes on...
