Catching up on old albums

So far this year the major highlights for me have been albums I missed somehow or ignored too long and am just experiencing for the first time.
1My Bloody Valentine
Loveless

1991

Pretty late to the party on this one but a gorgeous dream-pop album that was ahead of its time
2Slowdive
Souvlaki

1993

Don’t like this quite as much as Loveless, but same thoughts basically
3Dinosaur Jr.
Where You Been

1993

First album I’ve heard in full my them and fell in love with it
4Dinosaur Jr.
Farm

2009

This one is awesome as well
5Beastie boys
Check Your Head

1992

Have Licensed to Ill on vinyl but first time heating these 2 in full. They are both excellent
6Beastie Boys
Ill Communication

1994
7The Hold Steady
Separation Sunday

2005

Their new album is also fantastic any thankfully it convinced me to dig deeper and heard this beauty for the first time
8Craig Finn
I Need a New War

2019

Not really that old but screw it. This man’s music has been a major highlight for me this year
9Husker Du
New Day Rising

1985

Kicking myself hard for this one. This was my first Husker Du and I’m already basically convinced it’s a masterpiece
10Husker Du
Zen Arcade

1984

Rules as well but I actually prefer New Day Rising to this one. It’s a close call.. both albums are great for different reasons. This is definitely considered their magnum opus tho and it’s easy to see why
11Snuff
Demmamussabebonk

1996

The kind of fun, fast-paced punk album that Fat Wreck Chords churned out in the ‘90s. What I’m saying is it would make a great soundtrack to one of the Tony Hawk video games
12Sweet Trip
You Will Never Know Why

2009

Been in love with Sweet Trip lately and this might be my favorite
13The Bronx
The Bronx (II)

2006

enjoyed the new singles so dig some digging and this was pretty great
