tyman rec [my rating: 3.5]

Solid hybrid of doom/black/post metal. Bookends are my favorite so far. 3.5 with room to grow
7Tom Waits
Rain Dogs

Johnny rec [my rating: 4]

was very eccentric and at first I wasn't sure about it but now it makes sense. get a Bruce Springsteen/drunken Randy Newman vibe with some Leonard Cohen. needs more spins

edit: yeah this is really great. first half of the album feels like some sorta crazy opera or play but then it kinda shifts gears in the second half for some more traditional rockers
8Sunset Rubdown
Dragonslayer

What is this lol [2]
9Malfet
The Way To Avalon

Ben rec [3.8]

Great nature-inspired music that recalls the earliest days of Agalloch and the tragically underrated Nest. I'd probably love it even more if I hadn't heard this sort of thing before but this is definitely my kinda shit
10Natalia Lafourcade
Musas Vol. 2

Bobshat rec [my rating: 4]

An excellent album. I remember giving it a go back when Robertsona reviewed it but it was 100 % worth spending more time with. At times it makes you want to move, at times you just want to relax and listen. always captivating
11Baths
Cerulean

Ars rec [my rating: 4.2]

Spent all day getting to know this one and am officially in love with it. Gorgeous and creative electronic with a generous mixture of vocals that are often as unique as they are atmospheric

Abert rec [my rating 4.5]

Um this might be one of most unique and beautiful things I’ve ever heard.. the fact that it's a live album just adds to the intrigue. The guitar playing is just so pure and it really sucks you in with the atmosphere and her one-of-a-kind voice

Hans rec [my rating: 4.2]

Had to bump my score up for this one. "Screamager" and "Trigger Inside" have refused to leave my head since I stumbled across this. Solid as hell hanscore

tectactoe rec [my rating: 3.5]

I thought this was pretty nice. her voice reminds me of Aimee Mann at times which is a plus. I think the songs by themselves can be a bit underwhelming at times, but as a whole I think it works incredibly well
19The Living End
The Living End

Sloth rec [my rating: 4]

Leave it to Sloth to rec me an excellent punk band I’ve never even heard of. Full of energetic rock anthems, this reminds me of 90s Green Day at times. Also love some the ska influence on songs like “Trapped”.
20Drab Majesty
The Demonstration

Morningrise rec [my rating: 3.5]

Very solid atmosphere, vocals remind me of AFI
21Alanis Morissette
Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie

neekafat rec [my rating: 3.5]

Plenty of great moments throughout but just a bit too ambitious for its own good at times. Still, this is better than I ever gave it credit for
22Carpenter Brut
EP III

theolinnout rec [my rating: 3.5]

As an electronic noob I’m not too familiar with synthwave but this is a really cool EP. Parts of it sound like they could be in the original Sonic the Hedgehog games. Will definitely be checking the other EPS that make up the trilogy
