"There she stood in drag

She's lookin' a little wiped out
She said I looked like Peter Pan"

11.04.22 | "River"

"Fresh As a Sweet Sunday Morning"
Haunting guitar so far. The steel guitar is really pretty, I like it!.

11.04.22 | 1. Defacto Symphony. 3.5 Have not heard of this band, but probably something I would have dug when it came out. Where were you then Fogz.
2. Mellow Yellow. 3.5 My dad used to sing this when I was a load. Takes me back to my childhood, in a good way Arse. Listening to the song now, it's pretty cool chill rock. Great for a commercial.
3. River. 3.9 Love some good Scottish vocals, over some post rock indie. Song still holds up well.
4. Fresh as a sweet Sunday morning. 3.5 I quite like British folk from this era. Should listen to more. Bonus .2 it got my baby to sleep
5. Once upon the sea of blissful awareness. 3. How do you pronounce this bands name? So this is PSYBIANT! who termed that genre. Long, but blissful enough to keep me from skipping. Has its place in a hippy bazaar.
6. In every dream home a heartache. 3.3 My mum's favourite band, you guys are really delivering with the nostalgia. I have never sat down and listened to a song, they were just in on the background. This one starts very slow and remains just hovering around. 3 minutes in and we finally get some action, would be a great song mid concert.

Ambient so far. Unexpected vocals that feel almost trip hopish. Pretty chill.
3.5/5
"In Every Dream Home a Heartache"

3.4/5 |

11.06.22 | 1. Defacto Symphony – Doesn’t seem very original, but still a good intro for a month full of British songs – 3.0
2. Museum – This song is made for other people than me. I guess I would need something harder. I don’t mind the song, it’s just not for me – 2.5
3. River – Well, this is harder than Museum. The vocals get a bit too screamy, but the music is fine – 3.5 |

11.07.22 | 4. Fresh As A Sweet Sunday Morning – It’s a guy with an acoustic guitar song. Not that there’s anything wrong with that – 3.0
5. Once Upon The Sea Of Blissful Awareness – I had to look up what genre this even is. Wikipedia calls it Psybient (Psychedelic Trance/Ambient). I guess that makes sense. I’ve never heard something similar before, so that’s pretty cool. Bonus points for that flute – 4.0
6. In Every Dream Home a Heartache – Mesmerizing vocals. Only the ‘But you blew my mind’ sounded a bit awkward – 3.5 |
DadKungFu
11.07.22 | 5. Shpongle - I can smell the incense on this track, but nice overall, especially the vocals. Very of its time, but kind of in a good way. 3.6
6. Roxy Music - Probably my favorite RM track, deeply creepy and evocative, and manages to be a bit cheeky with the transition to the second half which rules 4.3
7. Conflict - Oh god, what a nostalgia blast. Used to be my favorite band in my anarcho punk days, still have the Ungovernable Force on wax. Plus .5 for nostalgia points, but was never my favorite of theirs 3.7

you should write poetry, i'd say 35% of poetry exists purely because of depressive tendencies |
Egarran
11.07.22 | >eg, honestly who hasn't written poems at some stage of their life
Indeed, except mine were mostly occult metal lyrics. I sense you can go deeper and you should consider restarting your career as a poet.

11.07.22 | 4. Bert Jansch - Nice guitar intro. OK vocal. 3.6
5. Schpongle - Gradual intro to 7-minute-plus song. Transition into pulsing beat w/female vocal and low-key electronic stylings. A little flute to close out. 3.0
6. Roxy Music - Gotta love Bryan Ferry. Not his best work, though. Very repetitive until more than halfway through. 2.7
7. Conflict - Subversive bass intro, energetic number. Acceptable vocal. 3.2 |

11.09.22 | 9. Meat Beat Manifesto - Silence followed by a chunky beat and a kind of in-your-face vocal. A bit of noise. Mid-speed but fairly aggressive. Not so much my thing. Weird fade-out ending. 2.7 |
fogza
11.10.22 | 10. Jessie Ware: Soul Control - I dunno why, but I didn't love this album the way everyone else did. The main synthline here irritates me, otherwise it's an ok track. 2.5 |

11.10.22 | 7. The Serenade is Dead – It’s early in the morning right now and this angry punk rock seems to have a similar effect as drinking coffee, so thanks – 3.5
8. Lament – Not really a fan, but the video and the song go well together. The bad video quality even helps, making this feel more nostalgic – 3.0
9. Think Fast – What’s 99% of 5? I can’t figure it out. I guess, I’m not thinking fast enough. Therefore I will just use the idle rating for this industrial song – 3.0 |
DadKungFu
11.10.22 | 8. Ultravox - deep cut 80s balladry, a well-done example of a style that isn't my thing 3.1
9. Meat Beat Manifesto - EBM that goes hard, from my favorite MBM album 3.8
10. Jessie Ware - 80s nostalgia, fun, decent song despite not being super memorable 3/5 |

11.14.22 | 14. Queen: Hammer to Fall - I view Queen as a formative band I liked when I was a teenager, until I got sick of their hits and developed an aversion to their overblowness. However, they do still have some absolute rippers and this happens to be one I still dig. 3.8 |
Vercetti
11.14.22 | 10. Soul Control – 80s nostalgia at it okayest – 3.0
11. Bitching – I would like the music to be a bit harder. I think the vocals would work better with harder guitar riffs. Besides that it’s a good punk song – 3.5
12. Paradise Circus – Not bad, but also not my preferred style of music – 3.0 |

11.15.22 | It has come to my attention that we are still 10 songs short with only 5 days runway. Vercetti
11.15.22 | 13. (Motor)way of Life – Yeah, I agree with fogza: This is generic – 3.0
14. Hammer to Fall – I’m not a huge Queen fan and don’t know a lot of their songs (besides the big hits of course), but it’s undeniable that those guys were very talented. Hammer to Fall doesn’t get me the same way a ‘We Will Rock You’ or an ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ gets me, but it is still a good song though – 3.5
15. Not Dead Yet – I actually thought the whole time she’s American, just because she’s in Skillet. I guess I was wrong. Dedex is right: It sounds like something from 2004, but I don’t see that as a criticism. My only problem is that the song really needs some cool guitar riffs to give it more power – 3.5 |

11.15.22 | 8. Lament - nice & atmospheric 80s shit. like it a lot. 4.0

11.17.22 | 14. Queen - It's cool to hate this band nowadays but I still have a soft spot for them when they're not being too corny. This is one of their better tracks in this vein, solid hard rock with a classic Queen solo 3.6
15. LEDGER - Thought I was going to hate this, and it is Paramore-core but also not too bad for all that 3.2
16. Oasis - It's an Oasis song and it sounds like an Oasis song 3

21. Ezra Collective - Quite nice, made me want to check out more of this band but not a whole lot of development throughout, nice piano solo though 3.5 |
fogza
11.21.22 | "oh shit thanks the fogzy police is monitoring!!"

11.22.22 | 22. The Buggles: Elstree - Was expecting to hate this but found it an oddly touching ode to a scene. 3.5 |
Vercetti
11.22.22 | 22. Elstree - And through that I learned about Elstree. As a movie fan I'm thankful for every piece of trivia I get. Song is an okay 80s tune. The lyrics are the most interesting thing about it - 3.5 |
fogza
11.23.22 | 23. Bernard Cribbins: Right Said Fred - dedex pretty much nailed it. 3.2 |
Divaman

fogza
11.24.22 | 24. Underworld: The hump - Yeah I got a bit bored by this about halfway through. 2.5 |
Pangea
11.24.22 | 11. Bitching - good punky stuff i like. 3.3

Vercetti
11.24.22 | 23. Right Said Fred – What fogza said – 3.0

Pangea
11.24.22 | 15. Not Dead Yet - 16 year old me would go hard for this, but i can't really connect to it anymore. Chorus is very cheesy. 2.5
16. Round are Way - very bluesy for oasis. it's passable. 2.8 |
fogza
11.25.22 | 25. Underworld: M.E. - More dated Underworld. Better, but I prefer Primal Scream for this sort of thing. 2.9 |
fogza

The Wildhearts - Greetings from Shitsville https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM-iQc3yYQs (the album is Earth vs. The Wildhearts)
Really fun hard rock tune, stylistically reminiscent of Manic Street Preachers' glam metal days. Honestly, The Wildhearts in general are very underrated |
fogza
11.28.22 | YEAH KORIS SAVES THE DAY! |
Vercetti
11.28.22 | 25. M.E. - I like it much more than the previous Underworld track. It works well as the soundtrack to a science fiction film that's happening inside my head - 3.5 |
