Trebor.
12.19.11 | Take a break
I spread my listens around a lot |
FearThyEvil
12.19.11 | Exactly what Trebor said. As many know on the site Tool is my favorite band but I have not played them anywhere near as much as I did 2yrs ago. |
Trebor.
12.19.11 | I like to go through a band's discography in a day or two, and then leave them alone for a month or two
And I usually listen to a new album around 10 times and then shelve it for a while |

Yeah same as me. Lately i've been on a rabid Industrial phase, don't know but it's really grown on me. |

12.19.11 | Don't know about anyone else, but I only ever got in the 1000's back when I only had a couple of albums to choose from (I was, like, 12/13 - I didn't know better). Now that I'm surrounded by recommendations for brilliant albums all the time, I'll only listed to an album more than 10 times over if it's incredible.
Keeps the magic alive a bit though, since you never really get the time to get completely bored. |
Acanthus
12.19.11 | I get a lot of new albums, and then normally start to love those. After a while I randomly go back to the older favs, keeps them new. Sometimes it's after a week, others after a few months. |
Blackbelt54
12.19.11 | most of my favorite albums I only listen to like once a month after the initial ton of listens so I don't get tired of them |

12.19.11 | just heard 3 for the first time the other day so its in the "gets better with every listen" stage for me.
go listen to Titus Andronicus over and over and over till you feel like listening to this again
warning: you might not ever feel like listening to this again. |
Blackbelt54
12.19.11 | yeah I've never gotten tired of Titus Andronicus, but it's not like I listen to them every day or anything |

12.19.11 | pacing yourself is definitely the key, but I think it's those albums where you can tolerate a less-enjoyable listen that you'll end up having the best relationship with |
wabbit
12.19.11 | I'm pretty sure I could just listen to the monitor for forever. |

12.19.11 | You probably need to highten your expectations and add bands that match these. I am very skeptical towards new music and It can be really frustrating at times that I need to look that hard for new music but in the end it's very rewarding.
I can still listen to albums I listened to more than 200 times. |
