An album needs a sense of direction which may be different dependant on the genre but it needs to feel like it is getting some sort of idea across whether it be political or simply some sort of journey through an atmosphere. Things in the music should exist for a reason, and work together to create an atmosphere that builds upon itself to progress in order to aid in the deliverance of whatever message the artist chooses. |
