11.20.14 | Bored. Anybody concur.. |
lou1000
11.20.14 | Anyone else seen 5 yet btw? |
ArsMoriendi
11.20.14 | Inherent Vice hasn't even come out yet... did you find a bootleg or something? |
lou1000
11.20.14 | Nah it showed in London for a one off yesterday |
YoYoMancuso
11.20.14 | 7 is 1
extremely solid list, only needs the additions of Prisoners and Whiplash |
Mister Twister
11.20.14 | where's snowpiercer |
lou1000
11.20.14 | ^ have you seen any of his others spooky |
lou1000
11.20.14 | Ok.. why? Don't tell me your one of these yanks that reckons Tarantino is a genius. Pulp Fiction is his only truly amazing film |
Yotimi
11.20.14 | 13 is probably the worst movie of the decade but props for 2 |
wwf
11.20.14 | Awesome list from what I've seen |
porcupinetheater
11.20.14 | Winter Sleep is a classic that just needs to wait to be considered a classic. There's some serious Bergman vibes in that one. |
Rowan5215
11.20.14 | I do love Tarantino but fuck Django. With sandpaper. |
lou1000
11.20.14 | @Yotimi, I do think that sometimes about 13 but then I give it props for being so overwhelming visually even it is slightly tasteless sometimes |
treeqt.
11.20.14 | ctrl-f
hong sang-soo
you goofed |
lou1000
11.20.14 | Just to clarify I also like Tarantino but a lot of people put him on too high a pedestal. |
Eloriaz
11.20.14 | Cool list! I would personally put The Social Network and Blue Is The Warmest Colour a little higher.
I'm a PTA fan so I can't wait to see Inherent Vice. I love #2 ;)
Haven't seen your top spot but I'm sure it's great. |
Intothepit
11.20.14 | I think you're mistaking the reason why people aren't agreeing with 60.
And it's great that you've seen Inherent Vice, but I find it hard to believe that you could throw it in a ranking like this after seeing it just once. |
wtferrothorn
11.20.14 | So much love for 57, 53, 30, 26, and 24 |
tempest--
11.20.14 | 26 is prob my fav on here |
lou1000
11.20.14 | @Intothepit I did consider that but did deliberate it's merits quite thoroughly before placing it on the list haha. If it does move up or down after a second viewing it won't be a significant shift (I think) |
Intothepit
11.20.14 | And yeah, seeing 60 and 57 pretty much killed the list for me. |
porcupinetheater
11.20.14 | Also, I'd throw my hat in for Turin Horse as best film of the 21st century, period. |
lou1000
11.20.14 | @Intothepit hmm that makes sense. Any recs would be appreciated |
lou1000
11.20.14 | Companion piece to 10 looks like it will be great. Also finally a new film from 3 next year.. |
VinVal
11.20.14 | Good fuckin list mate you included a lot of my favorites here especially the indies, and thank you for 32 i loved that movie and not just because of the 20 minute lesbian sex scenes but because it really brought the feels man. |
TalonsOfFire
11.20.14 | Great list, bookmarking this to check what I haven't seen yet. 2, 7, 8, and 26 are probably in my top 10 |
JasonCarne
11.20.14 | So everyone hates Django because...? |
TalonsOfFire
11.20.14 | Because they're misguided since django is one of the best movies of 2012 |
lou1000
11.20.14 | Mr. Turner should be on this, my mistake.. |
JokineAugustus
11.20.14 | The Raid 1 and 2, the world's end, Nightcrawler, Prisoners [999], Guardians of The Galaxy (how have you not seen it?!?!), Dallas Buyers Club, Gone Girl, etc |
lou1000
11.20.14 | Gone Girl, Raid 2 and Nightcrawler missed out narrowly. |
Faraudo
11.20.14 | No, it wasn't. |
letme69johndarnielle
11.20.14 | i think dallas buyers' club def deserves to be on this, lots of great films on here though. |
Rowan5215
11.20.14 | Dallas Buyers Club changed my life |
mxbrady
11.20.14 | The only movies here I've even seen are Toy Story 3, Inception, and Exit Through the Gift Shop. Shit, I knew I was out of touch with cinema but I didn't realize it was that bad |
Emim
11.20.14 | this movie was great
no it wasn't
how could you miss ____
because it's my opinion
I too love #__
yes I as well *gushes* |
L4titudes
11.20.14 | Take Shelter, Under the Skin, Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Ruin |
Alastor
11.20.14 | a lot of good and some mediocre picks. and admit you just ranked 3 that high because of the fish rape. |
adr
11.20.14 | great list, Gone Girl, Jagten and Intouchables should be here though. Also Drive is good, but it's so overrated everywhere 3.80 even in rym, wtf. |
PappyMason
11.20.14 | A nice list.
Out of recent films, Nebraska was one of my favourites. I need to see Mr. Turner.
@lou1000 - have you seen Dallas Buyers Club? What did you think? |
joshuahuntkc
11.20.14 | Winter's Bone is garbage. Upstream Color was a solid piece but plenty of films over the last couple of years could have beat it out that are not on this list. Gravity is only interesting from a technological standpoint and the drama of the movie was ruined by casting. Otherwise very very solid list. Good taste. |
lou1000
11.20.14 | @Alastor Nah 3 is really beautiful and moments like the one you mentioned which on paper seem absurd as if by magic do not seem that weird whilst you are watching the film. It kind of mesmerises you as it's metaphysical elements are presented in such a subtle and gentle way. |
thacoconut94
11.20.14 | Evil dead |
Alastor
11.20.14 | @lou I agree, that scene was absurd and beautiful. Also, Jagten [2]. One of the best new movies that comes to my mind right now. |
lou1000
11.20.14 | Anyone else seen 29 or any of his films?? |
VinVal
11.20.14 | The Holy Mountain will always be his magnum opus |
lou1000
11.21.14 | Hopefully Winter Sleep will beat out The Hunger Games on opening week box office. Fingers crossed.. |
MUNGOLOID
11.21.14 | Glad that Argo isn't on here. |
TalonsOfFire
11.21.14 | "Hopefully Winter Sleep will beat out The Hunger Games on opening week box office. Fingers crossed.."
lol that's never going to happen, it will probably suck anyway since Mockingjay is by far the worst of the trilogy |
furpa
11.21.14 | Dude, I know it just was released but where in the world is Whiplash? Fucking phenomenal film man. |
lou1000
11.21.14 | ^I've yet to see it. Only heard good things about it so I'm sure it would have been on here |
Trebor.
11.21.14 | Frances Ha rules hard |
iglu
11.21.14 | Am I the only one who hated The Wolf of Wall Street?
and Enter the Void was interesting for maybe 30 min, then it's just a snoozefest |
Wadlez
11.21.14 | So Static shits on Gone Girl and Django
What are your faves bruh? |
Funeralopolis
11.21.14 | Inception is the only movie I've seen on this list |
iglu
11.21.14 | and I call bs on anyone who says they enjoyed 4 |
furpa
11.21.14 | @lou You gotta see Whiplash man. Right behind Boyhood for my best of the year, but J.K. Simmons in Whiplash easily gives my favourite performance of the 2014. |
wtferrothorn
11.21.14 | How to Train Your Dragon series(especially 2) are amazing. But I'd understand how some people wouldn't be interested. |
SeaAnemone
11.21.14 | "and I call bs on anyone who says they enjoyed 4"
lol
that's one of my favorite movies ever
I can completely understand disliking it but not being able to comprehend why others think it's brilliant is just kinda stupid tbh |
lou1000
11.24.14 | Tabu should be on this too |
p4p
11.24.14 | The Raid 1 & 2 |
Yotimi
11.24.14 | Samsara
Carnage
Thirteen assassins
Cave of forgotten dreams
The illusionist |
joshuahuntkc
11.24.14 | Agreed on Thirteen assassins. |
puntugruhm
03.05.15 | enemy, sol le witt, borgman. |
L4titudes
03.05.15 | Birdman at 51 is utterly retarded |
