La Dispute - Wildlife Ranked

Possibly my favorite album of all time.
14La Dispute
Wildlife

St Paul Missionary Baptist Church Blues - probably this band's smoothest jam. The playful guitar in the first half is something that always stands out to me.
13La Dispute
Wildlife

a Departure - I always thought it was really cool how in the lyric book for this album there really are scratched out lines and notes in the margins. It took a while for this song to connect with me but despite it's placing it's still a highlight among their discog.
12La Dispute
Wildlife

a Letter - relatable
11La Dispute
Wildlife

I See Everything - heartbreaking. but damn that riff right before the mood shift is one of the greatest things ever.
10La Dispute
Wildlife

The Most Beautiful Bitter Fruit - I think this is the song I find my self relating to the most mentally as of recently.
9La Dispute
Wildlife

Edit Your Hometown - punk La Dispute is back and i love it. now that I've finally left my hometown and state, this song hits a bit different. "Don't make the same mistake as me". Good advice, I think.
8La Dispute
Wildlife

a Poem - Criminally underrated and easily one of Jordan's strongest deliveries. "and the worst of the Wildlife wears clothes and can pray"
7La Dispute
Wildlife

Edward Benz, 27 Times - this song kinda lives in the shadow of King Park but the story is just as interesting and every bit as upsetting. Jordan doing something melodic with his voice was even rarer during this stage in the band's life and "playing back the scene as you described it on a movie reel" is so memorable.
6La Dispute
Wildlife

Safer In The Forest/Love Song For Poor Michigan - gorgeous first half and another incredible leaving home song. I used to prefer the first half but Love Song... concludes this well.
5La Dispute
Wildlife

a Broken Jar - A fitting song to introduce the final act
4La Dispute
Wildlife

Harder Harmonies - One of the most satisfying last sections in their discography. The guitars are so perfectly utilized and these are easily some of Jordan's best lyrics. "and all the ones who seem to fit the best into the chorus never notice there's a song and the ones who seem to hear it end up tortured by the chords when they fail to sing along".
3La Dispute
Wildlife

King Park - if not Such Small hands then this is their most iconic song. This is one of those songs I think everyone should hear regardless of your feelings towards this band or the genre even. Not much to say about it that hasn't already been said, but King Park definitely deserves all of the acclaim it receives.
2La Dispute
Wildlife

all our bruised bodies and the whole heart shrinks - a great song to bask in your discontent to.
1La Dispute
Wildlife

You and I In Unison - The heartfelt plea of the closing line "Until I die I will sing our names in unison" followed by the emotionally distraught outro make this La Dispute's most powerful closer to date. This gem only trails slightly behind The Last Lost Continent making it my 2nd favorite song of theirs.
