La Dispute - Somewhere At The Bottom... Ranked

And we start where all good things should start, the beginning. I will be ranking each La Dispute album individually. I'd like to include HH, Vancouver, and most other non album tracks somehow so we'll see how this goes.
13La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Such Small Hands - ...DARLING
12La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Nobody, Not Even The Rain - .......DARLING...again, with tears this time.
11La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Sad Prayers For Guilty Bodies - that bell part somehow captures the entire tone of this song perfectly
10La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Last Blues For Bloody Knuckles - probably the only LD song where I think of it for the instrumental more than the lyrics. The middle section is smooth as hell
9La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Then Again, Maybe You Were Right - Heaviest song on the album, this lil thing is an onslaught
8La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Bury Your Flame - most fun guitar work on the album
7La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

New Storms For Older Lovers - everything from here on is top tier La Dispute. The untamed first half is already great enough but the 2nd half, the meeting if you will, is something only these guys could have pulled off and it's brilliant
6La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

The Castle Builders - the number one thing newer La Dispute is missing are epic gang vocals like these
5La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Damaged Goods - the most punk energy on the album and one of their most essential songs in my opinion. Jordan is doing everything he does best and that damn solo in the outro is so satisfying
4La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Fall Down, Never Get Back Up Again - the imagery here is sublime
3La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Andria - that slight tempo change is one of my favorite moments in their discography. I'm trying to resist going over every single line that I love for these rankings or else we'd be here forever, but closing with "and I will lay a bed before you, keep you safe until the end" is something that I've always appreciated.
2La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

Said The King To The River - it's this song's fault that these guys are my favorite band in the world. Probably the best example of everything these guys are about.
1La Dispute
Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair

The Last Lost Continent - the best song in the fucking world
