| Don Broco Ranked Best to Worst
Been jamming these all day and thought why the hell not!? | 1 | | Don Broco Automatic (Deluxe)
Their sophomore album takes exactly what made Priorities great, and doubled down on that, whilst throwing in an 80's pop aesthetic. This album is just a ton of fun, and I find myself jamming the songs on this more than the others.
Rating: 4/5
Recommended track: Wrong Place Wrong Time | 2 | | Don Broco Priorities
Don Broco's debut, and it's a strong one! Musically, this is their best album for sure. It's not perfect, I find the vocals to be a bit grating in places (Hold on, Here's the Thing). But the album remains consistently fun with plenty of groovy riffs, heart and great hooks.
Rating: 3.5
Recommended track: Fancy Dress | 3 | | Don Broco Technology
With their 3rd album, Don Broco went larger and louder. Boasting 16 tracks and clocking in at just under an hour, Technology is choc-full of massive anthems and thumping riffs. That being said, this is nowhere near as consistent as their first two albums, with half of the tracks feeling like filler at best. But the tracks that do hit, hit hard and are monumental at the live shows.
Rating: 3.5
Recommended track: Everybody | 4 | | Don Broco Amazing Things
Don Broco's latest release pushes them into even heavier territories by throwing some nu-metal into the mix. A lot of this sounds more like a parody of Limp Bizkit, Deftones and Papa Roach, rather than a Don Broco album. It's fun in small doses, but they definitely lost their grooves here in favour of a more aggressive musical style.

08.10.22 | Automatic is such an underappreciated album by these guys, I'd give it a review if I wasn't so lazy. | SteakByrnes
08.10.22 | These guys rule, but this doesn't even feature what I consider their best work!
Big Fat Smile > Priorities > Automatic > Amazing Things = Technology
Nothing below a 4 for me, love these dudes | MyMentality
08.10.22 | They're so good live! They put on the most enjoyable shows. Still need to check out Big Fat Smile. Thug Workout rules though, not sure if that's on it but I know it's an old one lol. | SteakByrnes
08.10.22 | I'd love to catch them live someday, they must put on a fun show. And check Big Fat Smile pronto my man! It's got a far different feel to it, almost more emo post hardcore type stuff going on with it. Thug Workout is unfortunately not on it haha, it's on some single/EP thing that I have had no luck finding :[ | Juturna91
08.12.22 | Wow, I agree with this list fully, actually! The only thing I don't agree with is that I think both Automatic and Priorities are 4/5, and certain days I might place Priorities at #1.
I think Amazing Things was a step in the wrong direction, they don't utilize Rob's fantastic and unique singing voice enough, I really don't enjoy the drummers singing except when he's backup and does shorter parts (like Come To L.A. on Technology), and Robs shout-rap is cool when used in moderation. If they did it on ONE track like on Gumshield I would've liked it, but it's not what I want to hear on almost every track.
It's like Technology made them try something new and it worked well with keeping a bit of their funky backdrop and going to a heavier nu metal-ish sound, but... on Amazing Things they leaned more into the entirely wrong side of their sound.
It's still a decent and somewhat fun album, but I honestly loved their cocky and poppy take on post-hardcore on Priorities, and their more funky poppy... I don't even know what to call Automatic, Pop-Rock?
Like sure, nothing we can't take away from Don Broco is that they're unique as hell all the way through their career.
I think the track with the direction they should've gone while implementing some slight nu metal-influences was Money Power Fame, that track is a banger.

08.12.22 | It also makes me sad, but I don't think they'll go back to anything that sounds like Priorities or Automatic, but I sure hope they will. Like not going back to those sounds entirely because I still think they should look ahead rather than just back... but I think they could do something a lot better if they pulled inspiration from their older albums.
If they were to make a new album I would hope for more funky guitar plucks and more actual guitar melodies, and I could also see them implementing more of an electronic backbone, but like... more dance-friendly synths. Could also see it being interesting if they experimented with like D&b-drum rhythms and something like that. | MyMentality
08.12.22 | I've been meaning to bump Priorities to a 4/5 actually, I just love how much more versatile that album is to Automatic and even some of the deeper cuts on it really stand out (In My World is fantastic). I agree with everything you said, I am interested to see where they will go next. They almost remind me of Weezer in the way that they take on completely different genres and styles and put their Don Broco stamp on it. I'd love to see them go full on punk with an album, like tons of energy, huge anthemic choruses, some of the emotional flavour from Priorities thrown into it. I love it when these guys crank up the tempo, so an album like that would work well I reckon. | SteakByrnes
08.12.22 | Yea my main complaint with Amazing Things is that Rob didn't sing enough, I love his voice and was missing it hard lol. Still love that album tho it's very fun, I wonder where they'll go for the next album |
