Samshine's Top 15 Digs Of Summer 2012

Albums that have got the most plays on my ipod this summer, dats about it.
1The Arrogant Sons of Bitches
Three Cheers For Disappointment

Don?t know how it took me so long to give this album a listen. This upbeat,
motivating, pump-up album has been at the top of my charts for most listens this
summer. This album pretty much makes the shittiest of scenarios and subjects
seem completely fine and care-free.
2Streetlight Manifesto
Everything Goes Numb

My go-to album for the past year now has still managed to snag a spot in top
listens for summer. There is nothing better than driving somewhere with the
windows down blasting this and screaming their catchy it at the top of your lungs
with your friends. Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na! Na!
3City Cop
Seasons

Although this was a late release last year, city cop re-caught my attention with
the release of their music video for ?spring?. I instantly fell in love with the acoustic
guitar player.
4Japandroids
Celebration Rock

The Vancouver-based duo of Brian King and David Prowse have created an album
that is raw, loud and life-affirming. Although this album is short, The Japandroids
remain relentless from the get-go, creating a solid 35 minute toe taping, rock sing
along.
5Killer Mike
R.A.P. Music

One of the best, most immediate rap albums this year.
6Death Grips
The Money Store

Although their punk-rock style of hip-hop sounded like the product of post-
traumatic stress disorder and anger management issues, these guys have blown me
away with their abnormal sound and catchy lyrical content.
7Drake
Take Care

I?ll get beat up for saything this but this album has grown on me.. more than I?d like
to admit..Something about his catchy beats and sob story has kept me going back
to it.
8Andrew Bird
Break It Yourself

From historical ocean liners to bee populations, Andrew Bird?s lyrics often need
some explanation, or an encyclopedia. Break It Yourself is a dreamy album that
showcases the dynamic instrumental and lyrical genius that Bird embodies so
effortlessly.
9Refused
The Shape Of Punk To Come

Been spinning it all summer to get amped for next week.
10The Weeknd
House Of Balloons
11Outkast
Aquemini
12Of Monsters And Men
My Head Is An Animal
13The Notorious B.I.G.
Ready To Die
14The Lawrence Arms
Oh! Calcutta!
15A Wilhelm Scream
Career Suicide
