Nostalgia Day

So was driving to work today and 'I'm Not Okay' came on by MCR, yeah I rocked out to it JUDGE ME. Song reminded me of those days in '04-'05 when I used to jam that kinda stuff, great days tbh. Anyway, just thought I'd make this list in memory of those days. Will jam them all again today prob.
1My Chemical Romance
Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge

If I remember correctly this was the first album I ever bought. Remember skimming through the 'Metal' section in HMV and being attracted to the (at the time) sweet cover art. Never looked back, got me into music as a whole so gotta give it some credit.
2Weezer
The Blue Album

If any album could be described as 'life changing', this record by Weezer was/is certainly that. I hadn't heard 'Pinkerton' at the time but I remember hearing 'My Name is Jonas' on the radio back in the day. Still an album I jam regularly to this day, classic.
3Green Day
Dookie

I'm sure everybody in my 'era' had something to do with Green Day at some point or another. This album sparked my interest in all that Pop Punk lark, thanks for this one Mum!
4Nirvana
In Utero

Well, we all know how I feel about this little gem. The first time I heard this was at my buddies, I'd only heard 'Nevermind' at the time so this felt a little too gruff for me at the time. Still, became my fave album of all time so was always gonna be on here.
5Foo Fighters
The Colour and the Shape

Damn, did Foo Fighters get a shitload of airplay in the mid-2000's. Kinda gotta thank MTV for this one, 'My Hero' made me basically go out and buy this record. Pretty sure a lot of you guys woulda picked this little rippah.
6Slipknot
IOWA

Ah, no nostalgia list would be complete without the masked compadres themselves! Pretty much the heaviest thing that I heard at the time, 'Disasterpiece' blew my little pea first time I heard it. Slipknot was a huge gateway band for kids at the time so no surprise this thing ended up on here.
7Kings of Leon
Because of the Times

Here we go, the reason why everyone posts 'its no KOL Leb' lol. But for real, the band at the time were something that I'd never really heard before. Picked up this record at Christmas and jammed the shit out of it for ages. Still some great tunes on here, will enjoy jamming later NO REGRETS.
8You Me At Six
Take Off Your Colours

Jesus christ, was this thing catchy as hell back in the day. Yeah yeah this was p average pop punk but all my buddies in school rave like hell about this. Yeah, my Dad used to call them 'faggots' and was scared for my sexuality but I had fun. Picked it up on my birthday and had a great time...seriously.
9Metallica
Ride the Lightning

To say this album was 'important' would be a huge understatement. You have to bear in mind that I thought Slipknot was the only thing that riffed back in the day. Put this sucker in and when 'Fight Fire With Fire' came on I think I shed a tear of joy (and terror). Its still a regular jammer and changed more lives than one, guaranteed m/
10Black Sabbath
Paranoid

What list would be complete without the creators themselves. Funny thing is, my Mum bought me for this in Christmas. Remember thinking at the time 'Damn, 1970?! Gonna be Dad rock'. All doubts off riffs were destroyed as soon as 'War Pigs' hit my ears, damn still the best song ever made. Love to jam this thing now and again, sure as hell gonna enjoy jamming today! m/
