05.14.13 | Kyte might fit the bill. They do it for me anyway. Their 2008 self-titled is *the* definitive album that got me into post-rock and shoegaze shit. Even just hearing 5 seconds of any of those songs instantly satisfies my soul. |

05.14.13 | Also the Immanu El album "They'll Come, They'll Come" was one of my first post rock flings after finding Kyte. Jeniferever came next, and the addiction was firmly set from then on.
Was trying to consider what my favorite Kyte song might be as an introduction to their equal parts post rock and somewhat (progressive?) pop, and I think the songs 'Planet', or 'Bridges in the Sky' do them justice - though they aren't always so melodic. Their cover of Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill is lovely also. |
