My Top 10 Of 2011

No EP's on here, cause it would just be the ten Sleeping at Last EP's that were released this year
1The Dangerous Summer
War Paint

A great mix of Pop-Punk and Alternative Rock. It takes the strong lyrical content of their debut album and adds a better lead instrumental section while increasing on the already strong rhythm section. While not having the major choruses of a Pop-Punk album (excluding highlight 'No One's Gonna Need You More,' which has an extremely catchy chorus) the lyrics and unique vocals of frontman, AJ Perdomo, completely make up for it. A remarkable album and absolute classic.
2Coldplay
Mylo Xyloto

Coldplay embrace their pop sensibilities and make an album that can easily compete with the Viva La Vida and A Rush of Blood to the Head, and quite possibly passes them. While the lyrics aren't necessarily anything special, they are on par with Coldplay's prior material. However, it's the musical experimentation that gives Coldplay my number two spot. It contains the perfect amount of synth heavy pop music and classic Coldplay instrumentation. It's a step in the right direction for one of America's best mainstream (and more pop than ever) band.
3The Horrible Crowes
Elsie

I've never been a fan of The Gaslight Anthem. The only thing I genuinley liked about them are the lyrics. Brian Fallon's voice always rubbed me the wrong way and for some reason the music never drew me in. The Horrible Crowes completely fix that. The bluesy, Americana music drew me in during my first taste of the album, which was the song 'Go Tell Everybody.' This song takes the rough and smooth vocals of Brain Fallon and the unique musical stylings of Ian Perkins. The music involves guitars, organs, drum fills, and other instruments that are not as commonly used. Go listen to this amazing song, and you'll get a taste of what the whole album has to offer.
