I first joined Sputnik when I was 14 years old and a freshman in high school. I was a pretty active user up until my junior year of high school back in 2013. I don't know when or why I dropped off, but I'm now a senior in college and it's been five years since actively using this site (besides one time in 2015 when I randomly logged on and rated a Lydia album for whatever reason). I've never fallen out of love with music, I just haven't been as active with it the past few years. The list is some of my all-time favorite albums (most of which Sputnik introduced me to during high school) and some favorites from the past few years just to give my general taste. I'd welcome any album recs from the past few years that people think I may have missed!
The Hotelier - Home, Like No Place There Is
The Menzingers - On the Impossible Past
Copeland - Ixora
O'Brother - Garden Window
Night Verses - Lift Your Existence
Those 5 are among my favorites for the decade. I'd recommend starting with Copeland if you're not familiar with any of them, as that album has almost universal appeal.
Love Copeland! You Are my Sunshine is actually one of my 5s from the time I spent on here. Listened to Ixora quite a bit and I might actually like it just as much, if not more.
I'm a fan of that Hotelier album as well, so I'll definitely check out the other ones that you suggested!
