12.27.12 | Seriously, I grew up in a theatre family so I was really familiar with the show. And it completely surpassed my expectations. |
baldymort
12.27.12 | Saw it yesterday. Pretty incredible. Hathaway absolutely killed it. Can't remember the last time I saw such an emotionally charged performance in a film. |

12.27.12 | this is a list that will reveal everyone who's homosexual

12.27.12 | "this is a list that will reveal everyone who's homosexual"
Anyone who talks about Anne Hathaway and doesn't mention how fine she is. |

12.27.12 | but she gave an emotionally charged performance, man!

Curse.
12.27.12 | I bet is a Les Miserable experience |
nononsense
12.27.12 | I've been waiting for this movie for a long time. I saw it in Atlanta at the Fox Theatre and it was spectacular. I always enjoy when Broadway musicals randomly pop up on my I-pod. |

12.27.12 | "this is a list that will reveal everyone who's homosexual"
You caught me . . . only saw it for Hugh Jackman
I keep getting surprised by how Anne Hathaway is what they're making the big selling point. [Spoiler Alert?] I mean, she dies about 45 minutes into it. But still, an amazing performance. I'd be shocked if she didn't get an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. |

12.27.12 | Dude, why would you spoil it? Dick, bro. Dick. |
Fortheloveofmusic
12.27.12 | Oh crap, that edit just turned it into a giant block of text.
"Dude, why would you spoil it? Dick, bro. Dick."
Haha I have no idea who actually knows the story |
Douglas
12.27.12 | Fucking love theatre, and fuckin looking forward to seeing this with all my biddies.
Make that straight enough? |
Ire
12.27.12 | itt we learn someguest is probably into twinks and makes up for it by being overly dude
hey wait this is old news hehehe |
J0ckstrapsFTW
12.27.12 | I heard it was bad. They apparently have British accents but its supposed to be French. Im fucking stoked that I get to skip out on going to see that with my girlfriend |
Fortheloveofmusic
12.27.12 | They don't even have accents most of the time. There is close to no dialogue an it's not customary to sing with an accent in a show. The only people who keep their accents are Sacha Baren Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter, and those accents are French. |
J0ckstrapsFTW
12.27.12 | Just sayin what I heard I can't stand fucking musicals so I will never know I guess lol |
Fortheloveofmusic
12.27.12 | Haha I'd give it a chance, this isn't your typical musical |
Acanthus
12.27.12 | "In which a guy steals a loaf of bread and all hell breaks loose"
I saw The Hobbit + Django Unchained instead. |
Trebor.
12.27.12 | My friend didn't want to see it because he's an uncultured fuck and didn't even know how to pronounce it and thought it was in french with subtitles |
Trebor.
12.27.12 | Make sure there are lots of black people in the theater |
Masochist
12.27.12 | "Make sure there are lots of black people in the theater."
^^^ This. The experience will be 20 times more uproarious, I promise. I've never heard the word "nigger"/"nigga" used in a movie so many times. It's worth it, though, no doubt. |
Trebor.
12.27.12 | I was in a theater full of black people, and I saved my friend a seat cuz he was late, and when he got up he said "what the hell, saving me the shitty seat. What am I three fifths of a person?" and I had to contain my laughter oh man |
Ire
12.27.12 | oh man |

12.27.12 | What are some of your favorite shows, Douglas? |
Douglas
12.28.12 | The Lion king, Billy Elliot, Les Mis, Cats and Jersey Boys |
XingKing
12.28.12 | Honestly, I wasn't very impressed by Les Miserables. It was about a 6.5/10 for me and the movie felt like it lasted forfuckingever. Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe have excellent voices though. Why did Crowe get all the cool songs? |
Fortheloveofmusic
12.28.12 | Yeah, the movie was a little too long. It didn't help that they added songs. But yeah, I was really surprised by Russell Crowe, a lot better than I thought he would be |
JakeStallion
12.28.12 | My high school actually did Les Mis back in May and I performed in it. It was pretty awesome. Most of the kids in the cast and I went to see it Wednesday night and I thought it was pretty decent. |
Calc
12.28.12 | tom hooper will prolly eventually be one of my fave directors if he makes 2 more high quality movies |

12.28.12 | I saw Django instead as well haha |
anarchistfish
12.28.12 | french accents are the best agreed |
DamnVanne
12.28.12 | This was my first time seeing any Les Miserables production and I had really high hopes for the story. The first half was fantastic, but almost everything turned to shit when Marius did a double take for the rich blonde girl. The love story ruined the awesome tale of Valjean's (spelling?) redemption, his contest with Javer, and the French Revolution. I'm told the book and stage production make a better love story, but the film's connection between Marius and Cosette was Twilight caliber stupid. |
Trebor.
12.28.12 | I heard Russell Crowe is lol bad in it |
Trebor.
12.28.12 | Well he's famous for having a really bad band that he thinks is good |
Atari
12.28.12 | shut up snoopdogg69 you worthless piece of shit |
DamnVanne
12.28.12 | His singing sounded more forced than any other actor, but it still wasn't bad. Amanda Seyfried, though, is constantly in falsetto and her character is poorly adapted, so she makes Crowe enjoyable by comparison |
Atari
12.28.12 | amanda seyfried is hot so who cares |
DamnVanne
12.28.12 | I liked her in Mean Girls and I thought Alpha Dog was a good movie. Her movies have all looked shitty enough that specifically avoiding her hasn't been a problem |
DamnVanne
12.28.12 | Hot? She has fetal alcohol syndrome, I'm sure of it |
Trebor.
12.28.12 | She is really weird looking |
Atari
12.28.12 | she's hot as fuk same with emma stone |

12.28.12 | This movie isn't The Room. 2/10 |

12.28.12 | well i guess the make up's doing the trick then she looks SO HOT in gangster squad |
bach
12.28.12 | Isn't this girl from Mean Girls? |
bach
12.28.12 | You'd still fuck her, andcas. |
Fortheloveofmusic
12.28.12 | DamnVanne: The movie stays really close to the original musical, the love story is a big part. And it's segue to get Valjean involved in the revolution. He'd just keep running if he hadn't tried to save Marius in order to Cosette happy. |
DamnVanne
12.28.12 | But Valjean had no involvement in the Revolution, in this movie at least. And fetching Marius may have saved his life (let's just forget that his master plan was to drag a man with an open wound through a tunnel full of human shit), but it hardly carried any dramatic weight when the two fell in love at first sight and then spoke once. It was akin to Valjean buying the doll for Cosette when she was a child; shallow and childish satisfaction, hardly worth risking his life for. |
Fortheloveofmusic
12.29.12 | Ok, I think I get what you mean now. But yeah, the Marius/Cosette storyline was a bit contrived, I agree |
