john hartford is fucking great. 'aero-plain' and his best of compliation (called me oh my how time does fly)
ramblin' jack elliott is great (i only got his best of, which includes a fucking awesome rendition of 'the house of the rising son')
bill monroe of corse seein' as he basically invented the genre.
wayne hancock, bob wills, and hot club of cowtown all technically play western swing but i think you'll dig it anyways
