10.04.11 | Forever: Michael Richards was done after that, and deservedly so. From a network cable standpoint, pulling Seinfeld off syndication would be one of the stupidest business decisions in history. |

10.04.11 | I mean, at the very least, it fucking destroys Faith Hill's pathetic Sunday Night Football song. |
BigHans
10.04.11 | Im glad you brought up Richards though. What he did is an example of something that actually deserves a backlash. What Hank did is about .00000000000001 percent as bad. |

10.04.11 | Okay seriously.
With the amount of bull shit miss-information constantly coming from all sides I actually have a hard time understanding how anyone would give a shit about this. Obama gets inaccurately compared to offensive shit all the time. I'm surprised they cared enough to pull him tbh. As far as I'm concerned he's covered by freedom of speech and they can do what ever they want as it's their show. Realistically it sounds to me like they were looking for a way to pull an old warn out song without offending sentimental dudes like you. You can blame the wrong people all you want but it won't change a thing. |

I'm not sure about that. Why would they change an iconic song like that? There's a reason why shows that hit the right song keep it for decades (ala Meet the Press, NBC Nightly News, etc). |

^ I do, actually. No advertiser would pull an ad because of Hank's comment. Now if he would have went Richards on us, that is a different story. ESPN would not have been hurt one bit by keeping the song. |

ESPN is the most expensive cable channel to poses. They would not have been hurt at all by keeping it which is why I'm saying that there were probably Ulterior motives at play here. |

well really because youre completely missing the point - they're drawing the line on what image
they want to portray to the public because of their (and pretty much all other big firms') long-term
imperatives to maintain a positive, professional, and responsible image to the public. |

10.04.11 | This doesn't make ESPN liberal in any sense. They just didn't want to be associated with someone this stupid. It has nothing to do with politics or party affiliations. It has to do with ESPN not having to deal with angry letters and boycotts. |
FrankRedHot
10.04.11 | No advertiser would pull their ads, Hans? In the immortal words of the MNF football crew, "C'mon, man!" Look what happened to Tiger. Bad PR resulting from some stupid act always means loss of sponsors. Be reasonable Hans. |

10.05.11 | I can't even watch ESPN anymore because all they fucking talk about are the Eagles and Tony Romo no matter if they win or lose. It wasn't about the 49er's win, it was about the Eagles lose. And jesus christ, it's as if they want to suck off on Tony Romo. Shut the fuck up already. He's an overrated piece of garbage who chokes...end of story. |
