Trebor.
09.18.12 | I haven't had a break up since 7th grade
I live vicariously through tv and movies and I had just watched (500) Days Of Summer and pretended I was Joseph Gordan Levitt and then cried myself to sleep. When I woke up I cleaned the tears off my pillow and washed my face. I then proceded to turn on my computer and stalk the facebook profiles of the girls I loved. I then put my itunes on shuffle and a certain song came on that clicked with me. It was a song from Jane Doe, at that moment I knew what to do. I had to go off shuffle and listen to this album over and over. Even though I couldn't understand the lyrics I knew exactly what he was saying. Or maybe I was just projecting what I wanted to hear. Either way my life made sense at that very moment. I knew what I had to do. And that's the day I became the man you see before you. That was the day I became Trebor17. |

^ Same deal. I never didn't like it, but it definitely grew on me more as I went. |

09.18.12 | Well a guy that abused my girlfriend for years likes Converge. Pretty sure I'll definitely never like them now. I never really liked them in the first place, but now I just have some bad stigma connected to them, even though it's not the band's fault. |

09.18.12 | used to love this band then i realized they suck.
Jane Doe clicked with me pretty much immediately after i got over how weird the vocals were. Devil And God Are Raging Inside Of Me was a much more personal album for me, even to this day as much as I like the particular album Jane Doe I never really found it that emotional, more so just entertaining. |

09.18.12 | These floods of you are unforgiving
Pushing passed me spilling through the banks
And I fall
Faster than light and faster than time
That's how memory works
At least in the dark where I'm searching for meaning
When I'm just searching for something
I want out
Out of every ackward day
Out of every tongue tied loss
I want out
Out of the burdening nightsweats
Out of the rising seas of blood
Lost in you like saturday nights
Searching the streets with bedroom eyes
Just dying to be saved
Run on girl, run on |

09.18.12 | Good idea for a list!
Let's see... At the time I listened to Jane Doe for the first time, I had never had a girlfriend before. But I absolutely loved the musicianship, even though the lyrics didn't mean that much to me. It was only when I started dating (and breaking-up) that the lyrics got to me. Then I realized it was a masterpiece, and to this day it remains my favorite album of all time.
On a side note, one album came close to Jane Doe in the category of "best break-up" album: Conversation Piece, by A Lot Like Birds. I started listening to it when I was fighting with my last ex-gf by text, and by the time the record ended, we had already break up. I listen to it all the time now. |

09.18.12 | My story is I got tired of people talking about this album and hyping it up so much so I've never listened to it. |

09.18.12 | Prologue: Downloaded it (no moneys)
Chapter I: Listened to it, liked it, thought it was worse than Axe to Fall
Chapter II: Listened a few times, didn't still quite get it
Chapter III: Clicked with it after 5-6 listens, album is fucking awesome, one of the best of its kind
Final Chapter: Axe to Fall is still the best Converge album |

09.18.12 | Don't get me wrong, I love every Converge album basically, I just usually thought that there was a story behind the great "Jane Doe" and the experiences of that first listen. I hated it at first. I used to make fun of people who loved this album on sputnik haha. |
calgarydude12
09.18.12 | Also the 6 months thing, first time I listened to Jane was like 6 months ago and I hated it, then it just grew. The break up did speed that process up though. |

09.19.12 | I actually only love the title track of that album, though I only gave the album in its entirety 2 spins, maybe I should give it some more?
I'm not that kind of an angry person though, maybe it's just that . I'm more hateful, but I'll cope with it in silence and have something like "yeah whatever, go away then, I don't even care anymore."
The coward way I guess. |

09.19.12 | Wasn't a break up album for me, rather unrequited love and moody walks around the neighbourhood in the afternoon sun/sunset.
Also, is it just me or is the title track the only one where the lyrics completely fail to match up? After a struggle I managed to go along with all the other songs, but Jane Doe is just impossible to follow. |
Salander
09.19.12 | ^ One of them, Distance and Meaning & Hell to Pay's actual lyrics are pretty different along with most of the other songs from what I've read. |
