If you like Io Sono Nato Libero you'll love Per un amico.
Best PFM album and one of the best as far as Prog goes imo. |

07.22.13 | Awesome to see Can on here too :)
Seriously, everyone needs to hear Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi.
EDIT: Yeah, Bitches Brew was one of the first major Jazz Fusion records. I guess it's progressive in
that sense but I wouldn't exactly call Miles Davis Progressive Rock. |
SIMBOLIC
07.22.13 | well the title of the list is fav prog not fav prog rock in fairness beefcookie |
beefshoes
07.22.13 | Very true.
I giggled when I read beefcookie. idk why. |
dfumagalli236
07.22.13 | Yeah, I guess Davis isn't really prog rock, but I just feel he embodied the progressive rock mindset essentially. |
beefshoes
07.22.13 | Yeah, I feel you. Same thing with Sgt. Pepper. I wouldn't call The Beatles Prog Rock but that album especially helped pave the way. |
dfumagalli236
07.22.13 | Yeah, to me there isn't one sound to prog, it's about the mindset. I mean Soft Machine doesn't sound anything like Rush, but they're both prog. It's about the approach and I think Davis and the Beatles both really seem to go about their music with that progressive mindset on those albums. |
