Pick a squad using yr £100 million transfer budget. You can order players by price or popularity,
etc, but bear in mind you are only allowed a maximum of three players from a club in yr squad.
Some people tend to get the 4 cheapest players for their subs and then spend more on their
starting eleven but I prefer having a mix so that if one of my starters doesn't play he can be

Transcendence into the Peripheral
Once yr happy with your squad (and aren't over the budget), you can move on to pick your team. You
need a keeper and 10 outfield players (bit of a coincidence that eh?). Pick your captain for the first
fixture - your captain earns double points so you want to pick someone that you think will do well, e.g.
you might pick Diego Costa as Chelsea are playing Burnley. Also pick a vice captain just in case your
captain doesn't play (the doubling would transfer to your vice captain in this case. | | 5 |  | Damien Rice

Confirm yr team (don't worry, you'll still be able to make unlimited transfers and/or change your
captain right up until the deadline (usually 45 minutes before the first match of the gameweek.
Maybe you'll fancy designing yourself a kit in yr favourite colours (definitely a necessary aspect of

I didn't really explain the basic game but effectively, for every game in real life, players earn points (example, a
striker will get 5 points for every goal they score in a game and a midfielder will get 3 per assist). Defenders
and goalkeepers generally earn high points by keeping clean sheets (or shut-outs if that phrase is actually real)
whereas midfielders and strikers are likely to pick up the majority of their points from scoring goals and setting
up goals. Add up your whole team's points for a gameweek and you have your gameweek total, this will be
added to your total score and you'll get a ranking in the world BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY in the sputnik league!

If one of your players doesn't play you won't get any points from him - duh. But if one of your substitutes played, they'll
be subbed in for him once the gameweek has finished so it can be really useful having subs that play regularly. You can't
change yr team once the gameweek has started but you're allowed one sub a week and a wildcard (allowing unlimited
