5 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.

Metal up your ass, just the way you like it.

Jugulator

Who the hell needed Rob Halford anyway? They wisely did away with what they did on Painkiller and really upped their game with pristine and totally original songwriting. Plus a new voice had proven that they could reach new heights with well composed and neatly packaged metallage.
4Iron Maiden
Virtual XI

Never before had they been so inspired and colourful in their compositions and musicianship. For sure all of Maidens future material would revolve around this gem of a record, with or without Bruce. I just couldn't get enough of hearing the choruses repeated 60-something times on the one song. And hearing it twice just wasn't enough either. It has that much replay value, people!
3Megadeth
Super Collider

My faith in this band so wasn't shattered by this scientific marvel of an album. I cried, but only because it was all so perfect. It wasn't because I was bitterly disappointed or anything and reacted like a baby. Why did you think that? Mustaine must have had a good spin in the super collider itself to have come up with the perfect formula for a total Frankenstein of a monstrosity. All in the best way possible of course.
2Metallica
St. Anger

Wow! That trash can drum set proved revolutionary at the time. 'Tallica had well and truly shown what the grunge scene was sorely lacking, by ironically lacking guitar solos and subtlety in lyrics but why would they need those? It all amounted to the rebirth of trash metal itself. Both figuratively and literally as "Fuck you, it's trash can metal!!!" Perfect 10 score material.
1Black Sabbath
Forbidden

For years this would be the final record by the inventors of heavy metal themselves. But this was such a sweet way to end their career with grace and dignity, complete with rapping on the first track (suck it, Linkin Park). In retrospect, they really didn't need to return to record 13. They already had their crowning jewel of perfection to finish off with. So why are you still reading? Get these totally awesome classics today! DIO FOREVER! m/
