Some R.I.O. For The Proggers(or anyone else really)...

I see plenty of prog lists, but none of them tread too far into the R.I.O territory. Covers RIO from the 60s to the present (always more to add).
1Henry Cow
Leg End

The mighty Fred Frith and company.
2Samla Mammas Manna
Klossa Knapitatet

My favorite by them.
3 Etron Fou Leloublan
Les sillons de la terre

Not always easy to digest (nothing here is I suppose) but worth the time.
4Univers Zero
Uzed

All things depressing emanate from here.
5 Stormy Six
Le Idee di Oggi Per la Musica di Domani

The only one I have, so I like it. There are more by these individuals but I don't have them in my possession so I can't comment.
6Frank Zappa
One Size Fits All

Good starting point for Zappa, and while he doesn't quite fit in here at all times, he definitely influenced the bands that I would consider Post-R.I.O.
7Mr. Bungle
Disco Volante

First RIO music I heard in the 90s that wasn't from any of the individuals of the aforementioned groups. Yeah, it's R.I.O w/ metal and a bunch of other crap that wasn't floating around in the 60s and 70s.
8Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
Grand Opening and Closing

There it is again.
9 French T.V.
The Violence of Amateurs
10Thinking Plague
In Extremis

Fantastic album. Great place to pick up if you are used to Bungle and Sleepytime. At times a bit hard to digest, but then again so is everything RIO.
