Congratulations

To those newly promoted
1AFI
Sing the Sorrow

Dave De Sylvia: I remember in 2006 I discovered sputnikmusic. I was only
18, very straight-laced and in Germany and I loved AFI. I made an account
just so I could comment on this thread. Dave has been the site's
ambassador for a while and has worked his ass off to make sure that
things are running smoothly. He takes a well deserved break from running
the site to serve as a staff member and I congratulate him on all that he
has done for us all.
2Brand New
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

mynameischan - an unretiree and one of the best writers around, chan
knows this site as well as anyone and when he's taking a more active roll in
things, the site is better for it.
3Brand New
Deja Entendu

knott - not staff material eh? for those who haven't read:
http://www.byvolume.co.uk/byvolumeoctober2011.pdf
4Animal Collective
Sung Tongs

conradtao - even though it was your review for triptych - demdlike stare
that made my jaw drop, this album typifies you in my eyes. incredible writer
who brings a lot to the table
5Aphex Twin
Selected Ambient Works 85-92

Deviant. - sometimes I want to punch him in the face. but mostly that is
because i am embarassed that, like so many others, i follow deviant's path
because it is always a path full of tons of fantastic and innovative beats
that are exactly the kind of thing i want to be listening to (also he's kindof a
dick sometimes). had he not gotten this promotion, i would have been
downright angry.
6Yellowcard
Ocean Avenue

Sowingseason (steve?) - as much as he will unquestionably be both an
asset to the staff and a great ambassador for the site, i question whether
he deserved this more than say, waior or rasputin
7The Caretaker
An Empty Bliss Beyond This World

robertsona - the most pleasant surprise of all the promotions in my eyes,
alex has an untraditional style, but it's one that everyone enjoys. i have
enjoyed reading several of his strange and twisted reviews, which is a lot
for me cause i don't really like to read that much.
8Boris
Boris At Last - Feedbacker

Angelofdeath - a self proclaimed metalhead, zack's a fantastic dude with
diverse tastes and a whole lot of charisma. this promotion probably made
me the happiest to see.
9Miles Davis
A Tribute to Jack Johnson

This Life is Genocide - I wasn't more than dimly aware of dante's presence
on this site, but I hear good things and will look forward to paying more
careful attention in the future.
10Disney Soundtracks
The Lion King

Irving - no one has worked harder at this than Irving. He has bettered my
writing significantly and done the same for so many others. I'm proud of
this guy for sticking with it.
11bomb the music industry!
scrambles

ifghttffyrdmns - like this album, i don't get it. with a whole host of talented
writers (with xenophanes leading the way from my point of view), this guy
doesn't do it for me. but prove me wrong and i can be won over.
congratulations nonetheless.
12Massive Attack vs. Burial
Four Walls/Paradise Circus

Voivod - since i know nothing about this user, it seems like an ideal time to
remind everyone how freakin awesome these two tracks are.
