4 Metalcore done right. |
30 | | Dead In The Dirt Fear
4 D-beat, fuck you. |
29 | | Fuck The Facts Die Miserable
4 These dudes know how to mix it up well, grind meets multiple kinds of metal. |
28 | | Wormrot Dirge
4 Easily one of today's best grind bands. |
27 | | Will Haven Voir Dire
4 Will Haven with more atmosphere and what I'm quite sure are 7 or 8
strings, sick. |
26 | | O'Brother Garden Window
4 Honestly an awesome progressive rock record, they just need to sound a
tiny bit less like Thrice. |
25 | | KEN Mode Venerable
4 Not their best, but band continues to keep me pissed. |
24 | | Ulcerate The Destroyers of All
4 Space in my death metal, fuck off. |
23 | | SLOTHS SLOTHS

4 Chaotically Beautiful. |
11 | | Rwake Rest
4.5 Another great modern sludge band, completely filthy at the same time a
little bit of heart shows through. |
10 | | Flourishing The Sum of All Fossils
4.5 Probably should be a 4, but the styles these guys throw together is
incredible, even it can be kinda sloppy at times. |
9 | | Cave In White Silence
4.5 Album is dark and nasty at the same time it likes The Beatles. |
8 | | Citycop The Hope In Forgiving & Giving Up Hope
4.5 Didn't want to 4.5 both, but their just so good. |
7 | | Citycop Seasons
4.5 Band is my surprise of the year, not usually my kind of thing, I don't
know if it's because their acoustic but this shit jams. |
6 | | Last Chance to Reason Level 2
4.5 Literally video game metal, blows me away that this is their debut lp,
band also tears it up live. |
5 | | Palehorse Soft as butter, Hard as ice
4.5 Along with Thou, Palehorse are my favourite modern sludge band and
with this album they continue on the trend of being consistently awesome. |
4 | | Scale the Summit The Collective
4.5 Best instrumental album of the year, band writes songs like an orchestra. |
3 | | Thursday No Devolucion
4.5 As bummed as I was to see them go, it was nice to see them come back
into form. |
2 | | Glassjaw Our Color Green (The Singles)
4.5 |
1 | | Glassjaw Coloring Book
4.5 It was pretty sweet to see some releases from Glassjaw, both ep's
they released are solid but I prefer this one. |
