04.17.10 | ^^^
Sorry but the score for The Dark Knight is very generic. It works, but it's boring and derivative. For better Zimmer go for Pirates of the Carribean, much more evocative.
Anyway
Ry Cooder's "Paris, Texas"
Don Davis' "The Matrix"
John Williams "Schindler's List"
So many more...

04.17.10 | Mansell is a god. The Fountain is probably my favorite film score (though Requiem and Pi are both strong, too). Moon is a little too repetitive for its own good, but it works really well in the context of the film, which is excellent.
Also, Hans Zimmer's score for Gladiator is great, as are Bear McCreary's for Battlestar Galactica and most of Peter Gabriel's (Birdy, Passion, Long Walk Home). |

04.18.10 | ^Thought about putting Danny Elfman on here but was unsure of which film. There's the big ones like Batman, Edward Scissorhands (well, guess almost all of Burtons stuff) but I almost settled on Freeway. That's pretty out there. I also just thought of 'Spun' & 'Trainspotting' but don't remember who actually scored those movies. Both worked really well though. |
