2000 is the greatest year in music. Change my mind

Caveat: Since the turn of the millennium. But I welcome your respectful disagreement.
1At the Drive-In
Relationship of Command

Still holds up perfectly 20 years later. And to think Omar still had The Mars Volta in him.

Standout Track: Cosmonaut
2Deftones
White Pony

The crown jewel of a discography littered with high points. They really tapped into something metaphysical here.

Standout Track: Pink Maggit
3Electric Wizard
Dopethrone

Undeniably a fucking 80-ton monolith. And I don't even like doom metal.

Standout Track: Dopethrone
4Radiohead
Kid A

I mean...yeah.

Standout Track: Everything In Its Right Place
5Quasimoto
The Unseen

Shrooms are a helluva drug. Unquestionably the most underrated album on this list and an ALL-TIME hip hop masterpiece. Madlib reached for the stars and landed somewhere on fucking Andromeda.

Standout Track: The entire album, front to back
6Deltron 3030
Deltron 3030

The conceptual follow-up and spiritual brother of Dr. Octagon, and arguably the better album, which is saying something.

Standout Track: 3030
7Glassjaw
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence

Sounds a bit dated in 2020 but I'd argue it's even better than Worship and Tribute. Shoot me.

Standout Track: Majour
8Isis
Celestial

I'll stick my neck out and say this is better than Panopticon. The perfect combination of balls and brains and a stellar introduction to the world.

Standout Track: Celestial (The Tower)
9Iron Maiden
Brave New World

Arguably their high point, which is saying something. An absolutely glorious return.

Standout Track: Brave New World
10Eminem
The Marshall Mathers LP

While I prefer The Slim Shady LP overall, this is undeniably Marshall at his hungriest and most versatile.

Standout Track: Remember Me
11A Perfect Circle
Mer de Noms

One of the all-time great rock debuts. Crazy to think a guitar tech had these songs rattling around in his head while setting up for Adam Jones.

Standout Track: Magdalena
12Children of Bodom
Follow the Reaper

Alexi and the boys firing on all cylinders. Their best album? Absolutely.

Standout Track: Kissing the Shadows
13Jedi Mind Tricks
Violent by Design

A perennial contender for best hip hop album of the 21st century. An absolute masterpiece that solidified Stoupe's place in the pantheon.

Standout Track: Sacrifice
14Marilyn Manson
Holy Wood

I used to think Antichrist Superstar was his crowning achievement. A sober reevaluation has led me to conclude otherwise. Holy Wood is his opus.

Standout Track: Valentine's Day
15D'Angelo
Voodoo

It takes a while to grow on you and it's not something you just pop on anytime, but when the mood is right...nothing else quite hits the spot. D'Angelo is something of a genius.

Standout Track: Greatdayndamornin'/Booty
