Crysis 03.09.11	I was debating all day about whether to go and buy it, but I decided not to. I really loved the first game but was reading from several reviews that the second is basically a dumbed-down version of the first in all aspects. If that is the case, I have better things to do with my $60.

DougTheRanter 03.09.11	Steel yeah you can upload your data from the first game, but from the 4 hours I've played I've only noticed one reference to the original game.

couldwinarabbit 03.09.11	It's not nearly as dumbed down as Mass Effect 2 was in comparison to Mass Effect 1 (though ME2 was a far better game). The specing for the character creation is vastly improved (probably more complex) so you can have your guy do exactly what you want. The conversation trees are improved. Biggest difference is how much better the fighting is.
ANALUST 03.09.11	and the graphics LMFAO looks like a early ps2 game
MisterSteel 03.09.11	The mage combat worked decent in the first one, but I'll be glad if they've re-worked how the physical characters do combat.

Crysis 03.09.11	@Rabbit- If what you say is true then I will have to go and pick it up tomorrow. Do you have it for PC? If not then fuck consoles. I'm really waiting for Skyrim to come out and BF3, those are the two games I plan on buying no matter what.
DougTheRanter 03.09.11	The mage is pretty much the same as it was in the first one, but it's a little more streamlined, and from the little I've played with other classes it's more fun, but maybe not as strategic. My biggest complaint is that you can't change the armor on your companions, but other than that I think that it's better albeit a bit more dumbed down than Origins.

couldwinarabbit 03.09.11	I just mean in the tanking, dps etc thing. As well as the layout (I always haven't played many other games on the pc). But ya they fixed the combat (you can't just spam health potions) so the fights are more dps races where in the first one it was more of war of attrition.

Crysis 03.09.11	Yeah they are. I played WoW for four years before I realized how fucking gay it was and I can assure you Dragon Age is nothing like WoW aside from the fact they are both RPG's.
Willie 03.09.11	I want that game, but I like to wait for a bit of DLC to be released so that I can play through it all at once. I jumped the gun on Fallout: New Vegas and now it's just sitting there waiting for more DLC.

Crysis 03.09.11	I just can't stand the idea of paying $60 for a game without an ending, and being forced to pay $10 more some time down the road to bring some sense of closure to the story (and sometimes that doesn't even happen). It is the worst thing to happen to the gaming industry in the past 5 years (besides CoD).
Willie 03.09.11	The Dragon Age DLC brought different characters to the game, but they weren't necessary parts. The bigger DLC was actually post-ending stuff that also didn't affect the core game.
erasedcitizen 03.09.11	ME2 didn't dumb anything down at all, it just removed aspects of the game that were unnecessarily annoying. The conversation wheel and the impact of your decisions is still there, that's what really makes Mass Effect an intruiging game. I love the first game but you can't tell me you enjoyed browsing through your equipment screen converting everything to omni gel.
