New Albums To Get Hyped Over
these are all albums i want to review in some way, shape or form. writing
has been harder for me lately but maybe i'll get something neat done for
you guys soon. |
1 | | caribou our love
c'mon we all know this will be the greatest thing ever |
2 | | rustie green language
i know apparently this is not great but I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT the album is
perfect i'm sure and i will hear nothing else on the matter |
3 | | trioscapes digital dream sequence
this is way jazzier than the band's debut, which in turn makes it a bit harder to
really 'get'. jazz is a genre i've never much sunk my teeth into, but i at least can
tell you this is one hell of an interesting album. third song is particularly great! |
4 | | opeth pale communion
i can't really confess to ever claiming opeth has had a perfect or terrible album, so
i expect my response to this album to be fairly middle-of-the-road. that's boring
and predictable for you guys, but life will go on i'm sure. |
5 | | porter robinson worlds
it stands up to all the marketing it received- pretty great commercial house record,
and those first few songs in particular are stellar. the album eventually turns into a
more fun party album, but it's all relatively enjoyable. i mean, who the hell sees
that album art and expects something that isn't cheesy? |
6 | | maybeshewill fair youth
i love these guys so much. i have no doubt i'll enjoy this a fair bit, and i hope they'll
be able to come up with a sound that's a little more personable than their last
record, as gorgeous as it was. |
7 | | the contortionist language
it isn't just that i tell myself this will be the greatest album- i know some people
who have been lucky enough to hear the whole thing, and they also insist it's great.
so i'm going to remain hyped. |
8 | | sbtrkt wonder where we land
i typically wouldn't have gotten too excited about this, but that new song with the
dude with Vampire Weekend was curiously catchy- perpetually stuck in my head. i
have a feeling this'll be a big album for sbtrkt |
9 | | gui boratto abaporu
great house / techno producer who has come out with some really interesting
albums. i hope this record has the warmer feel of some of his earlier works,
because those stuck with me the most |
10 | | the rural alberta advantage mended with gold
because Adrian Hertzberg paid me to put this album here |
