Vocals are very typical of a ballad, as is the guitar. This isn't doing anything for me. It's very "radio-friendly" though. In a "my mom would like this" kinda way. Just better than average. The lyrics are probably deep, but I usually don't pay attention to lyrics until the music grabs me...

This is a masterpiece. I'm too lazy to write a new description since I already did it for my "ranking Kate Bush's Studio discography," but it came in#17/100 with the top 24 all getting perfect scores, there's the description:
"I feel like this song is has such a familiar melody, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. The bass, strings and piano are great like usual. The song seems to be about escaping the city to enjoy nature and how beautiful and relaxing that can be. Everyone is asleep except for her and her husband, who are sharing an intimate night outing at the beach. I feel like this is more fact than fiction and that Kate and Dan actually did this at one point. Kate’s later love songs seem especially genuine as though she’s super happily married. Amazing song."

Nickee Coco - Been meaning to check Of Montreal more (only track I knew before this was Lysergic Bliss), and I have pretty mixed feelings after this. The overture and vocals were not my thing at all, but aptly enough the story made this for me. Very cute wholesome stuff, a lot of images that made me double-take to be sure this wasn't the Flaming Lips. Have still got a slight glow of general cuteness from this, so going to score it now before it wears off at 3.5/5 |

Telethon-Stillwave (feat. Chris Farren).
This song is set in apocalyptic end times, due to someone discovering "the page at the end of the Internet", which you hear in earlier songs, and the writer trying to escape to the safe-haven of Disney Land. It starts off reflecting on humanity and observing their reactions to their final days, before reaching the gates of Disney. This is where Chris Farren steps in, to explain what is going on there.
The whole album is one big story, but this song alone is a stand out and well worth your time.

"Izon-Shou / I Am An Addict"
So far airy Japanese vocals and water droplet instrumentation accompanied by floaty guitar. Wait the pick up is kinda cool. Her voice is kinda nasal, but I don't mind it too much. If anything it allows her vocals to stand out. Do you know who she reminds me of? Alanis Morisette... like a lot. Japanese Alanis Morisette. Now as I approach the ending the piano is pretty and the guitar has gotten extra noisy as it solos. Like it's a built-up climax. It makes sense that this is the album's closer actually. Not bad.

This... it sounds like David Bowie's debut. I can't take this seriously. Okay, that cello is gorgeous though, a huge saving grace from how hard this is to take seriously. Imagine if Bowie never did drugs? What if he turned into this... what a scary alternative universe. Seriously, the early Bowie-ness of this song is uncanny. +.2 for cello awesomeness.

The organ is nice so far. Damn Earl is ugly. Aw, it's about domestic abuse. Her voice and music are mostly boring, but the lyrics have captured my attention completely. This song is way too happy to be about murdering your abuser.

This makes me think of like chillwave with that production. Nothing about this really grabs my ear. The guitar reminds me of "Every Breath You Take" by The Police, but faster and her voice is kind of plain. Background music, but not unpleasant.

Very punky, but predictable. It almost reminds me of post-punk revival stuff like The Strokes, but more female. Much like the last one, this isn't unpleasant, but it also doesn't command my attention at all. Her voice does have personality though.

What's with you guys and post-punk and soft indie rock? Both have great stuff, but it's so popular with this group. The vocals sound a little off (unintentionally so,) but the guitar is pleasant enough. Honestly, this is like 90s U2 with different vocals to my ears.
