...is awesome. I only just went there for the first time last week and I'm already hooked, I've been there twice since then. Very impressive CD collection. For the past few days, everything in the store has been on sale for 25% off, so my dad, friends and I took advantage of it. | 1 | | Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago
I had been meaning to let my friend borrow my copy, but I kept forgetting, so I decided to buy it for her when we went with some friends into Boston for my birthday this past Friday. | 2 | | Deftones B-Sides and Rarities
The gorgeous acoustic rendition of "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" is what made me look into getting this; the prospect of having every single Deftones music video up until this compilation's release sealed the deal.
Bought new for the sale price of $4.49 | 3 | | Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory
Listened to it once on Lala when I was 13 and loved it; now that I'm older, and my tastes have broadened and my ability to understand music has deepened, I decided to revisit it. And it's worth every bit of that 4.5 rating o' mine that's been sitting there forever.
Bought used for the sale price of $7.49 | 4 | | Incubus Make Yourself
"Drive" and "Pardon Me" are killer singles, and the album as a whole sounds like a pretty nifty one, so why not?
Bought used for the sale price of $5.24 | 5 | | Mudvayne L.D. 50
I showed my friend a couple songs from this album ("Death Blooms" and "(k)Now F(orever)," to be specific) and she was VERY impressed. Her birthday was last week, so I bought her a copy. | 6 | | No Doubt Tragic Kingdom
"Don't Speak" and this album's reviews piqued my interest.
Bought used for the sale price of $2.99 | 7 | | R.E.M. Reckoning
I've been curious about R.E.M.'s roots - their sound from before they blew up. I went in looking for Murmur because that was THE album they started with (as far as I am aware), but it wasn't available, so I got the next-earliest record.
Bought used for the sale price of $4.49 | 8 | | Rx Bandits ...And the Battle Begun
Sputnik's glowing reviews of this and other Rx Bandits albums caught my interest. The descriptions I've read of their music sounded very intriguing to me, so I went in looking for any of their last four albums and came back with the only copy of the only one available.
Bought used for the sale price of $5.99 | 9 | | Taking Back Sunday Tell All Your Friends
Several of my best friends are huge fans of TBS, so I decided to buy their most acclaimed record and see where their hype was coming from. Turns out, the copy I acquired was of the reissued version that has two bonus tracks and an enhanced second CD of additional bonus material.
Bought new for the sale price of $9.74 | 10 | | Widespread Panic Ain't Life Grand
My dad's become a big fan of these guys lately so while I was buying 5, he bought this, Everyday and one of their live albums. | |

06.24.14 | The 7 CDs I listed prices for are the ones I bought for myself. Thanks to the 25% off sale, they came to a grand subtotal of $40.43. Not bad, eh? | NorthernSkylark
06.24.14 | Nice collection you got away with there
I got Fleet Foxes' s.t. on clear vinyl from their shop and it's perfect

06.24.14 | Love this place, the one near me recently got a shit load of new vinyl, plus a "buy two get one free" deal, so I'm going back almost every week to clean up. Godspeed, Fugazi, QOTSA, all sorts of awesome stuff. I take it you're from New England? | NordicMindset
06.24.14 | BOSTON! | Dylan620
06.24.14 | Thanks NorthernSkylark
@BMDrummer, that sounds absolutely sick, nice work there. When I went with my friends on Friday, one of them got a Rise Against vinyl. And yes I am, in fact I live roughly half an hour away from Boston. You a fellow New Englander?
Hell yeah Green Baron, you from the area too? | GringoSuave89
06.24.14 | Fun fact: the dudes from Incubus and Adam Sandler (yeah that one) helped out on the Deftones acoustic versions. | Dylan620
06.24.14 | Wow really??? That's sick haha | BMDrummer
06.24.14 | Up here in Maine, we got a few lurking around the state. | sapient
06.24.14 | Best. Store. Ever. I live about 30 mins from Boston and have one down the street from me | TalonsOfFire
06.24.14 | I also live 30 minutes from Boston and Newbury Comics is definitely the best CD store around right now, I must've gone there a thousand times by now | Brostep
06.24.14 | I live 5 T stops away from Hynes, where the Newbury Street location is, and I go there pretty often. Usually I'm not super impressed with their prices (average price for CDs seems like it usually hovers around $13-15 which is not ideal) except for the new releases which are usually discounted, so I've bought quite a lot of stuff from there. Bummed the Needham Street location in Newton closed, though, that was the best option for driving since it actually had a parking lot | GhettoHmbrglr
06.24.14 | i was there for the sale to. picked up the newest 'melt-banana' cd and a batman poster for like.. $14 ish. | YoYoMancuso
06.24.14 | 8 is easily one of my favorite bands | someguest
06.24.14 | I've quit buying CDs. I'm solely vinyl and digital now. |
