Controversial? Carcass Ranking
7Carcass
Torn Arteries

Not sure what happened here. It's by no means a terrible album, but it kind of sounds like the lost the plot here. That being said, I think the album cover is amazing and the perfect visual representation of everything Carcass has been preaching about lyrically since their early days.
6Carcass
Surgical Steel

Surgical Steel is one of the greatest comebacks in metal history and it is a great album, but at the end of the day it is Heartwork 2.0 and not as good as the original.
5Carcass
Reek of Putrefaction

One of the most indecipherable and impenetrable hardcore albums of all time. If you ask me, this is up there with Scum in terms of influence and perhaps even better material-wise.
4Carcass
Heartwork

Overrated in terms of where people place in Carcass' discography but that only speaks to how ironclad their career has been. Again, Carcass created an album that fits in a genre but doesn't bow to any trend. This is melodeath on their own terms.
3Carcass
Swansong

Swansong does not have a weak track on it and is the best death'n'roll album ever.
2Carcass
Symphonies of Sickness

It is not often that guitar riffs make me want to puke because they are so disgusting and yet.... here we are.
1Carcass
Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious

At a time when death metal records were being lumped by region (Florida, New York, Gothenburg, Stockholm, etc...) Carcass created one of the most singular albums in the genre.
