Flawless Tracks

yeah
1Ween
Ocean Man

Catchy as fuck, with immense replay value. Beautifully written surf-pop with vocal
phrasing that enhances the already salty ocean feel to it. Everything about it is
addictive, from the handclaps toward the end, to the guitar solo and the chorus.
This is the song that inspired this list tbh.
2Radiohead
Lucky

I think this is the ultimate culmination of what Radiohead were trying to do in their
Bends-OKC period. The textures, lyrics and especially that swooning guitar give me
goosebumps. The live version with Michael Stipe is music nerd heaven too.
3R.E.M.
Nightswimming

Yeah don't really need to go into this one do I?
4Black Star
Astronomy

This is the very essence of Black Star. Smooth verbal interplay made even more
buttery by superb flow from def and kweli. lyrics are obviously strong, both are
discussing topics they are passionate about and it shows. Beyond that, it is catchy
as fuck and does not get old.
5Nas
It Ain't Hard to Tell

Embodiment of 90s NYC hip hop: perfect premo beat with a perfect sample, out of
this world lyricism and flow from a nas in godmode. not much else to say. has and
will always be my favourite nas song.
6Off Minor
Practice Absence

Oh lord this band is so fucking good. I could have chosen 3 others probably but this
is the pinnacle for me. The slow burn is what gets me, and the explosion at the end
is all the more rewarding for it.
7Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth
T.R.O.Y

Generic choice for PR&CLS but come on this song has such a good sample that
manages to bring forth so many emotions. I'm not sure why that is, it just hits me
every time. One of the best hip hop beats of all time in my opinion.
8Queens of the Stone Age
Better Living Through Chemistry

I think there are three QOTSA songs that could make this list: Better Living, I
Appear Missing and Sky is Falling. I chose this because this is what got me into the
band and the riff is just TOO FUCKIGN GOOD MAN I DONT EVEN LJBLKJADVBK
FUCK.
9Titus Andronicus
Four Score and Seven

I know people would usually put the end track but the sheer rollicking americana of
this song makes me feel so fucking good even though the lyrics are less than
cheerful. When you're drunk with mates, and every one of you knows this song,
belting it feels better than pretty much anything.
10Wu Lyf
We Bros

beautiful instrumentation contrasting with rasping unintelligible vocals comes to a
peak on this track.
11Opeth
Deliverance

This or the Moor are the best but I picked this because I aint no bitch
12The Beatles
In My Life

siiiiigh dat harpsichordy piano.
13Justin Timberlake
Summer Love

this song will never age fight me
14Hermitude
Get In My Life

If anyone hasn't listened to this band definitely get on it. Brilliant instrumental hip
hop out of the Blue Mountains in Australia.
15Bjork
Joga

beautiful and haunting and god damn i would still pork bjork
