Funny Games

Michael Haneke has a lot of interesting films which seem to stir up a lot of controversy. Maybe it's is awkwardness with sexual subjects ( The White Ribbon ) or possibly the bizarre situations he creates with characters ( Funny Games ). Funny Games is his most bizarre, with a lot of experimental ideas. He made the first Funny Games in '97 which is all in subtitles since the language is Austrian. In '07 he recreated his film practically shot for shot with somewhat big American actors, Tim Roth and Naomi Watts. Personally I like the original, the theme seems to fit much better with the first given actors, and the personality seems a lot more authentic. I'd like to see just because I'm curious to whom liked which better and why
