Great Reviewers of Sputnik
Mostly staff/contrib. Keeping the positivity going. All picked off the top of my head. |
1 | | OceanLab Sirens Of The Sea
Manatea - well-written yet not boring. He paints a picture every time. I go into his reviews like, “I will enjoy reading this, booyeah”. |
2 | | 5ive 5ive
Mars - SO MUCH detail that reading his reviews takes a good chunk of my day. It’s an ordeal every time, but dude, that’s some professional steez. |
3 | | Ra Duality
PumpBoffbag - pumps out great reviews like it’s nothing. Whatever he’s on, I want it. |
4 | | Nessa Barrett Pretty Poison
Koris - the man can write well, his cadence often seems poetic. It flows naturally, and is a pleasure to read. He only wrote one review thus far that I disagree with/don’t like, please never do that again, it feels wrong. |
5 | | Graveworm Killing Innocence
Johnny - though the man has an ego and occasionally needs to be kicked down a flight of stairs (don’t we all?), his reviews are often fun. He struts on the line between professional and not professional and thoroughly tickles it. He does so professionally because he writes like a machine/modern day Shakespeare. Those that are annoyed by his reviews are sufficiently trolled and also didn’t read them hard enough most likely. |
6 | | Moonspell Night Eternal
Sunnyvale - has a memorable writing style. He writes short reviews sometimes, and always with eloquent writing. It’s incredible to see how much detail and emotion he can put into a short go. I’m drooling just thinking about it. |
7 | | Graveworm Ascending Hate
Willie - Willie’s reviews don’t get enough love. They are consistent in tone and writing quality. Professional to a tee, and he engages with his audience professionally and good mannered despite the chaotic audience of Sput. |
8 | | The Birthday Massacre Pins and Needles
Sowing - what I’ve always appreciated about Sowing’s reviews is he makes the experience of albums a very personal thing. It makes me want to join him on his quest to feel and deeply engage with music. In fact, ‘twas in my formative years when his reviews inspired me to write more, and listen to more types of music. |
9 | | Kerli Love Is Dead
Gnocchi - personality: super serious/cynical, and the next day he’s a friendly goof. This comes through in his reviews which are more quirky/silly than he may realize, while still giving the mouth-watering details that make a grown man blush. His feedback is also great, sometimes irksome and rather brutal, but useful if he gives em! Take heed. |
10 | | Earshot Letting Go
Atari - I like his reviews. They are really, really good. They’ve always been really good, and they will not stop being really good. The man is a machine of goodness. Also, if you don’t like him log off forever. |
11 | | VNV Nation Electric Sun
Dewinged: gives the goods. Daunting reads in the best way. His reviews make me stroke my beard. Intelligent reviews for intelligent people. |
12 | | Egyptrixx Bible Eyes
DadKungFu - he does a lot with words. I can sit back and enjoy his reviews, there’s always some interesting takeaways that make me say, “huh!”. |
13 | | Lone Lemurian
Orb - professional as fuck to the point of wondering if things get more professional. |
14 | | Ninjaspy Spüken
MiloRuggles - been reading his stuff lately. The detail astounds and is leaps and bounds off the ground. |
15 | | Ad Infinitum Chapter III - Downfall
Asleepindaback: if you haven’t noticed, this guy writes reviews that are legit interesting/fun. Interesting! |
16 | | Pagan's Mind Heavenly Ecstasy
kompys: something about their reviews makes me enjoy reading again. Maybe cause they kick ass. A friendly human, thereby making their reviews have even more character, dang! |
17 | | Seventh Wonder The Testament
fogza: if you don’t like his reviews you are most likely just dumb but I will reserve judgement. Great reviews for real review reading humans that enjoy well-written reviews. |
18 | | Bilmuri GOBLIN HOURS
PsychicChris: he writes a billion reviews yet they are all good. He has his formula down 1000%. If you’re not impressed by what he’s doing you should be. |
19 | | I See Stars Treehouse
robertsona: chill, detailed reviews. I emphasize chill because not enough humans are just… chill. |
20 | | ISIS Panopticon
mkmusic - every review is tight. He has opinions I disagree with but he isn’t pigheaded about it. Also an encouraging presence on the site. |
21 | | The Dear Hunter Act III: Life and Death
dmathias52 - now for a bonus round! This fella gives me everything I need to know about an album and then MORE. His reviews are fantastic reads. |
22 | | Cattle Decapitation Death Atlas
NoTrap: this guy can write really good cause he writes about metal, but also he writes nice, duh. |
