New Album from Claustrophobia (Sputnik user)

New Claustrophobia album available now for streaming on Bandcamp: https://claustrophobia1.bandcamp.com/album/ruminations

Ruminations

'Ruminations' is the fourth full-length album from Claustrophobia and the first new release in over a year. A departure from the sound loops and atmospheres on last year’s self-titled album, 'Ruminations' instead recalls the more melodic phrasings of 2017’s 'Beyond the Light' in what is undoubtedly the most personal album yet in the project’s brief history.

Claustrophobia

Detailing the effects of a year full of self-doubt, overthinking, depression, anxiety, and contemplating difficult life decisions, 'Ruminations' captures a mind-set that hasn’t been fully present in other Claustrophobia releases. While at times the tranquillity of the music may seem to contradict some of these emotions, it also serves as a brief respite from their intensity, an opportunity to breathe in a moment of release from their constant weight. At the same time, some of the songs instead aim to address these feelings head-on; thematically, the album as a whole deals with the aftermath of letting go of someone you care about and certain songs deal directly with this series of events, ruminating on these moments and attempting to make some sense of them before they inevitably turn self-destructive.

Where Were You When the World Got Cold?

'Ruminations' starts with the promise of solace and ends with the hopes of detachment; it is both a nod to the past and a look to the future, both in its subject matter and musical execution.
