06.13.09 | Nice taste! For 1, obviously listen to all of Radiohead's albums; it's mandatory. For 2, you should also probably check out Sigur Ros' discography, () is very good. For other post-rock, check out Godspeed You! Black Emporer's "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven". It's in a different post-rock vein than Sigur Ros (e.g. more difficult), but very rewarding. For 3, Michigan is a similar (albeit not as good) album; I would suggest Andrew Bird but you already have him. Iron and Wine perhaps? For 4, check out some Massive Attack, Tricky, or even Emiliana Torrini's "Love in the Time of Science". "Third" isn't really trip-hop at all, but Portishead is known for their trip-hop. For your Explosions in the Sky, check out other post-rock staples (e.g. GY!BE, Slint, later Talk Talk, Mogwai, etc.) For Modest Mouse, try some Built to Spill or Wolf Parade ("Apologies to Queen Mary" is best probably); not really sure. Don't know much about 9 or 10, so can't help you on that one (or 7, skipped over that). That's a started I guess. | willfellmarsy
