Best Live Performances

Best live performances i'v seen...
1Metallica

Reading Fest 08. Amazing performance, thought they were dead. I was wrong. The band were tight, fire works were cool, new music seemed good. 10/10.
2Smashing Pumpkins

Reading Fest 07. So loud! Had not realy heard much of them before. Bought 3 albums soon after. A massive surprise.
3Rage Against The Machine

Reading 08. Been a huge fan since I was about 16. I never thought i would get a chance to see them. Yet I managed to get a reading ticket at the last moment. One of those definfing moments for myself. Excellent performance. Incredibly violent crowd which I was part of. Memorable.
4Ash

Portmouth Guildhall 04. First gig I ever went to. So it is naturally one of my favs. Great performance, although they did make everyone wait about an hour before they got on stage which pissed a lot of people off. Permanently damaged my right ear as well, due to being literally squashed against the speaker. Got lost and missed the last train as well. Mates dad had to pic us up at about midnight! Classic night.
5Kings Of Leon

Reading Festival 07. Dont like the band much now. But that year they released 'Because Of The Times', which i loved. So seeing them live added to the enjoyment. Hot, sunny day with a beer. Good times.
6The Mars Volta

Brixton Academy, London, 08. Always loved ATDI, and transfered my interest to these guys. Excellent performance, especialy the drummer who is an absolute beast! Pulled out the tracks from De-Loused which were fantastic. Great performance.
7Manic Street Preachers

Reading Fest 08. One of those bands you hear as kid, but avoid!! A friend persuaded me to see them, and as the alternative was the Killers, i though i'd might as well! Shocked. They were excellent, the crowd were going mental, and I found I actualy quite liked a few of their tracks. Covered 'Pennyroyal Tea' by Nirvana as well, which was about as close to Nirvana I will ever get. Excellent.
8Flogging Molly

Reading Festival Again. 08. Never been that fussed by them, but as I like punk in general I thought i'd give them a go. They were excellent, the tent was ramed, with mosh pits galore! A good feel band, would recomend to anyone.
9Lostprophets

Reading 07. Loved 'Fake Sound Of Progress' about what seems like ten years ago. Really do not like the way the band have gone. Anyway, nothing much else was on, so me and a mate thought we might as well see them. We arived half way through the set, and seemed to have missed the lame stuf. These guys are quality performers, got the whole crowd jumping. To cap it off 'Shinobi' was the final track, which resulted in several circle mosh pits, and brought back many good memories. Very good performance.
10Nine Black Alps

Portsmouth Pyramid Centre, England, 06. Most of you will probably of never heard of this band, or if you have, just put them down as a lame indie band. However back in 06 they were not! I love the whole grunge edge they have to them, or had should I say. They were surprisingly heavy live, and resulted in many a fight. It turned out to be one of those gigs when you get someone who stands there and defends their girlfriend in the middle of the mosh pit. Man i hate that. But the music and the amount of punches the guy took, made up for it. Would recomend seeing the band if they are round your area. God know what they are up to.
