A Different 2009 List
NOTE: this is NOT a list composed of the best to come out this year in general, this is just what I personally have gathered during 2009.
Yeah, surprised eh? Who would have thought that an alt.metal band with nu metal influences could be in a 2009 list. Well I say why not? this is the album of the year for me so far and I love it and if you have a problem with that, go fuck yourself.
Pray For Villains
Definitely the best groove metal album to come out this year. Probably will not be topped by anyone, but we'll see.
No Gods West Ep
modern rock music done right. I am the only person to know of these guys on this whole site. If you read this list and like rock music then if you won't check this out then I don't know what is wrong with you.
Grave New World
Good dark metal from finland. recommended
Dawn Of Reprisal
great, rather brutal thrash/death from Britain
What Doesn't Kill Me...
Another great groove/thrash metal record. For fans of Sepultura, Soulfy and DevilDriver
Not as impressive as their debut but still a worthy sophmore album. It's good to see a original melodeath band in these dark times.
Just a decent industrial record, it is nothing too flashy, but it's still a good listen. Industrial fans need to check this stuff out and I should probably raise my rating for it.
A lot of people thought this was a letdown from Amorphis. It ain't no Silent Waters, but it is still a damn fine record from the finnish veterans.
In The Light Of Darkness
A good blackened death metal album, nothing spectacular but imo it deserves to be on at least one 2009 list.
another note: this list doesn't contain any black metal records since i am not into that gere just yet
fool, 4 is partly black haha. Anyways, some good stuff one here - 1,2,4,7,9 but I don't think any of those will make my top 10 list.
I only heard 9 from this, and I think you know I didn't like it.
yeah well this is just a half-year list atm. There is still a lot of cool stuff to come out this year for sure
Cool, you like 8. I'll have that industrial mix done sometime this weekend.
check out 2 and 3, I think you would like them
yeah that would be sweet, btw 16volt is good but I have some complaints as always:)
ha ha, of course. Drop me a comment on last.fm and let me know what they are.
With an entire compilation of industrial we have a good chance of actually finding an industrial band we both like the same.
hahahaha yeah I little bit over-exaggerated when i said we have 0 industrial bands in common. I mean, Wumpscut, Cyanotic, 16volt, Rob Zombie (although he can never produce a whole album that is good from start to finish), and like you said you are slowly getting into Crossbreed. I say there is a good chance we will finally get on the same line when it comes to industrial since if we leave out that little Czar accident, there hasn't been an industrial band that you have rec'd me and I haven't liked at all so far.
Also you need to FINALLY get on that Celldweller album.
1 is the only one I've heard and it's pretty solid. Celldweller is even cooler though.
yeah man,Celldweller is really cool, but he hasn't released anything just yet (or is it already streaming?)
I guess, not yet, but he's planning on releasing the whole new album this year. I've only heard his debut and Birthright.
