Gyromania 07.19.11	I ended up giving Ravedeath a 5/5, it's such a beautiful album. Cool list, a few of these will make an appearance in my list at the end of the year.
rasputin 07.19.11	yeah it's my number one of the year so far it's winter over here so i've spun my record almost daily for the past few weeks

Gyromania 07.19.11	I wish it were winter here - the heat is unbearable. Oddly enough I change which genres I listen to most frequently depending on the season, I've noticed. I usually play a lot of metal and albums that have that cold and beautiful sound to them, like Sigur Ros' Untitled. Ravedeath seems like an album best suited for a chilly day.

rasputin 07.19.11	'yeah i actually have berkay it's the first thing of his i've been introduced to though and i havent got into it yet :o' imo it's not only his best record so far, but the easiest to get into. on the other hand, out of the ones i've heard, it's also the most affecting. though obviously i can't really make a definitive statement without having heard all of his records. play it next time you're in a sombre mood. Ravedeath seems like an album best suited for a chilly day.' yeah i'm fairly sure most dedicated music fanatics would have their listening habits affected by the weather. winter comes around it's time for ambient, black metal and slowcore. wish it snowed or something here though, it would make it cooler.

Deviant. 07.19.11	I'd be willing to make the argument that Harmony in Ultraviolet is an easier Hecker album to get into
rasputin 07.19.11	i'd argue the opposite - it's far more dissonant in terms of aesthetic. it's not as 'ambient'-esque as ravedeath, and thus can be pretty jarring. i for one had a little trouble appreciating it at first, whereas ravedeath floored immediately when i first heard it
Gyromania 07.19.11	Easier to get into, possibly. I find Ravedeath to be his most rewarding album though.
Masochist 07.19.11	Happy that 'Eisley' hasn't been forgotten this year. I'm in the process of checking out #1 right now. #4 will probably be on my year-end list, as will Fair To Midland and Foo Fighters.
