09 Digs
These are albums I've been liking recently. Still a fair few I need to hear... |
1 | | Maylene and the Sons of Disaster III
4.0 - Southern Rock/Hard Rock from USA. |
2 | | The Thermals Now We Can See
3.5 - Indie Rock from USA. |
3 | | Gorod Process of a New Decline
3.5 - Technical Death Metal from France. I think sputnik gave this one a bit of a hard time...it's one of the best tech death albums of the year... |
4 | | Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra Take Off!
3.5 - Jazz from Germany. I'm the only one to have rated this so far, so get on board, it's really nice experimental jazz. Very lively and not likely to lose interest... |
5 | | Fanfarlo Reservoir
3.5 - Indie Pop from UK. Don't know why people haven't got into this so much, it's so much better than that overrated crap called MPP |
6 | | Katharsis Fourth Reich
3.5 - Black Metal from Germany. I am one of only two to have rated this. Very strong traditional black metal release. |
7 | | Robyn Hitchcock Goodnight Oslo
3.5 - Folk/ Pop/Rock from USA. Once again, nobody else has rated this one. It's very entertaining and easy-listening pop/rock with a great voice. |
8 | | Emery ...In Shallow Seas We Sail
3.5 - Post-Hardcore from USA. |
9 | | Behemoth Evangelion
3.5 - Blackened Death Metal from Poland. lol...this has probably wore off me by now. |
10 | | God Dethroned Passiondale
3.5 - Death Metal from Netherlands. |
11 | | Gwynbleidd Nostalgia
3.5 - Progressive Death Metal from USA. |
12 | | Manchester Orchestra Mean Everything To Nothing
3.5 - Indie Rock from USA. |
13 | | Havok Burn
3.5 - Thrash Metal from USA. I'm the first to have rated this one, and no it is not by the same band that had that other Metal release out this year and last. These guys are Thrash metal not Death, but they rule. |
14 | | Raekwon Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt II
3.5 - Hip Hop from USA. I was dissapointed that the other songs were not as good as House of Flying Daggers, but even still, it's a really enjoyable release, but I prefer cunninlynguists' 09 release... |
15 | | Panopticon Collapse
3.5 - Folk/Black Metal from USA. |
16 | | Irminsul Irminsul
3.5 - Folk Metal from Sweden. I'm first to have rated this, it's a very decent effort at Folk metal, with Black metal vocals and very interesting song structures. They are trying very hard to be different although this works only some of the time. Still, very enjoyable and better than most other albums in this genre... |
